Here's a topic I don't think has been done before. Who/what is your favourite musician and/or band?

I'll start off by saying Vanessa Mae, who made her debut with The Violin Player. Which I'm currently listening to now.

So, what's yours? :?:

Genre: Classical
Band: The Beatles (as if that wasn't obvious)
Artist: 2pac (had he lived to expand out of rap like he was hinting at in some of his movie roles and unreleased duets) would take the title, but most of his released stuff is 'just rap'. Sinatra didn't actually do anything but sing, does he count as an 'artist'? This one is a really hard one to choose. Louis Armstrong is up there. Al Jolson... gah, I can't pick one! Come back to me... *waves you off*

Wait... NIN counts as Metal/Hard Rock?

I always felt NIN had more of an Industrial sound with a pop influence...

Violent Seas

ya, it's Industrial Rock, but some of their songs can be viewed (in my eyes, anyway) as hard rock....

for the most part, I like metal/hard rock, but it isn't exclusive

All of my Favorite bands either broke up, or had their lead singer die before I knew much about them.

The best live concert I ever went to was when I saw a friend of mine's band playing live last night in a park. There were probably 500 people watching them...

Before you laugh, yes I have gone to larger scale concerts.

It's just it was a really good atmosphere for a concert... Plus their music was pretty good to.

I like almost all genre's of music but I listen mostly to rock.

Bands\artists, hmm... Thats pretty hard I like individual songs more than an artist.

I've never been to a concert, seen them but was never there.

I like Billy Joel.

Favorite Band has gotta be...Beatles. THey're ridiculous. Sgt. Pepper's, THe White Album, Abbey Road

THe number of LEGENDARY albums this group has put is extraordinary.

I also am a big fan of Jazz (Particularly Louis Armstrong and PHalonius Monk), Blues (Armstrong amongs others), Country, in addition to Rock. In fact, I put BLues as my favorite, because of how influential it has been.

Right now, I'm listening to Diesel Dan and the Long Haul Truckers

They are a country/rock group from Maine. Indie group. THey are FANTASTIC!

Check'em out if you like Charlie Daniels, Lynrd Skynrd or any other Country Rock groups.

I got hooked on them when I saw that one iPod commercial with the clip of Feel Good Inc. They basically have used all types of music in their songs so far. Though, in their newest music video, Noodle dies...

Noodle dies?! That can't happen!

Right-o..

Fav. band? Alice in Chains! Tool is pretty close, though. (Gorillaz are awesome too, as is Mudvayne)

I listen to just about anything but country (and that too, on rare occasions). I just stick to 90's rock, most of the time, though. There hasn't really been any new bands worth listening to lately... Not any that I've heard about, anyway. The record labels sure are picking up some shitty bands to fill the Rock genre. Pfft, they're just kiddies making noise.
