I thought that I should put this thread in here for the same reason as the Embarassing Moments thread, it might get ugly. Anyways, the scariest thing that ever happened to me was this summer, at a camp that I was going to. It was Saturday, so we got to get up later. So, I walk over to the cafeteria for breakfast. I get cereal and everything, and I sit down and start eating. While I am eating, I glance over at my left shoulder, and on it is a cicada. A fucking cicada. Now, you people might not know this, but I have insectophobia. Insectophobia + cicada on shoulder = FUCKING SCARY!!! So, I jumped out of my seat, trying desperately to get the fucker off of my shoulder while trying to stay calm and not hyperventilate. Once its off of my shoulder, and on the ground, I get my stuff and move to a different table. Thankfully, the thing just goes towards the table that I was sitting at when it was still on my shoulder. That even scared me so bad that I was paranoid for a couple of days, and when ever I heard the cicadas in the trees, I would nervously glance at my shoulder to check for cicadas. Now, start sharing.

I saw my dead grandpa in a dream one time.
When he died, one of the things that my grandma gave to my dad was an old service revolver that was about 40 years old. It had been in his cupboard the whole time, although my granpa kept it loaded, and cleaned and polished it quite often.
My grandpa was like "I tried gettin' your pa, but the man sleeps like a log. Right..."
He proceeded to tell me that i had to inform my dad that the registration for the revolver would end in two weeks time, and that he had to get an extension for it. He said that in no way was my dad allowed to get rid of the gun (not that me pa wanted to).
My dad nearly had a heart attack when i told him all this. He checked the papers for the gun that night, and i was 100% correct. The gun with the papers was locked in a safety deposit box at the neighborhood bank...there was no way for me to have known.
This was like 8 years ago.

This is going to sound effing made up considering the comparison that it will draw, but I swear on my kids this is true, and would appreciate you withholding any stupid Padfoot! comments, b/c it honestly still scares the snot out of me.
When I was about 11-12 I was riding my bike around sunset in the neighborhood I lived in (one of those really red sunsets that just looks creepy). Everyone parked their cars down the side of the street, since the yards were all grass with landscaping.
Riding down the hill on the bike I saw off to my forward left a shadow moving in between the cars. As I came even with the space between the two cars I saw what looked to be a massive black dog, I'm talking small bear sized (gee see the comparison yet) looking at me as I passed the two parked cars. I screamed and it looked like it jumped and went under the cars.
I crashed my bike about another 15 feet from where I saw it and as I finally stopped rolling a few seconds later, I could see under the car and there was nothing. I could see all up and down the hill and on either side was clear lawns without trees to cast shadows (which is what made me look in the first place) or shrubs to hide in.
I picked myself up and looked around and it seemed like I heard somethig moving, but nothing was in/under the cars or the area around me. I ran to my bike and pedaled home bleeding my ass off from the huge patches I'd ripped off my right elbow and right shoulder, and I kept feeling like the thing was going to get me the next few hundred feet I pedaled.
To this date I get chills thinking about it, and my eyes water up from the chills ( I literally start shaking involuntarily in my hands it's taken 10 minutes to type this), thats how bad it scared the everliving hell out of me. At night when I heard a loud dog bay near my house/hotel/etc I feel the need to look outside and turn lights on if there aren't, and I get the same chill.
My wife claims to of seen alot of feaky stuff, but tbh, half of it creeps me out so bad I'm not going to repeat it.

...Freaky thing that happen to me...umm...i can see a few minutes of my future in my dreams on somenights...When I say that I mean whatever happen to me in te dreams happen for real like maybe a month or years later...When it happens to me, I freeze up and have a small flashback...When it happens in my dream..I watch my self do it...And when I do it in real life...I feel like I'm watching myself do it again...this doesn't happen often...but not rarely...somewhere in the middle...When it happens it freaks me out...

Well Middy, an experience like that would freak just about anybody out.
My freaky experiences are actually pretty straightforward, the first ones have benefitted me immensely, the last one has made me extremely paranoid.
When I was 5 I dreamt of flying in an airplane. I had never been in an airplane before, nor had I seen the inside of one. In my dream I accurately 'saw' the interior of the airplane down to the minutest detail, including my seat number (which I had no knowledge of the time)... Two weeks later we flew to Florida to visit of grandmother.
When meeting people for the first time in RL I have NEVER been wrong about how I judged them after the first impression was made. It's really freaky.
I am also such a little bitch about the dark... I sleep with the lights on. It's probably because when I was little I went wandering around in the woods that my grandmother in Ohio owns... I spent the entire night out there when I was 7, just trying to find my way home. I couldn't see shit, but I could hear everything, and it wasn't fun. I also apparently managed to stumble my way about 20 miles away from where I started. After that, I got REALLY paranoid about being alone in the dark. I mean unhealthy paranoid... As in if I leave my house to go anywhere at night, I have a 12 inch butcher knife or a switchblade within easy reach. If the sun is down, you do not want to tap my shoulder, because I will gut you first, and ask questions later.

When I was a kid my next door neighbor hanged herself in her garage so the house was left vacate for a while and so naturally my sisters and I and our friends played around there a lot, taking the plums from the tree, locking each other in the back yard, you know the usual.
Well, one day one of my sisters found a hand mirror that was just left there, so she kept it for herself for about a week until she broke it. After we teased her about how she has brought down the wrath of deceased upon her, we gathered up all the pieces and tossed them back over the fence and promptly forgot about it. A few days later we went back there and found the mirror again, it was unbroken.
We didn't come back until someone else moved in.

@Indo Deja vu, happens all the time, weirds me out.
@Gio. Yeah I know the feeling. I had 2 bad experiances in New York that left me jumpy as shit in the dark.
-Mugged in the park after a block party by a crackhead. Guy had a nice sized knife, I was like 14. yeahhh.. heres the 20$ in my pocket get the fuck away from me
-Guy tried to break in my bedroom window when we lived on the second story of an apt. building. It was one of the old project style buildings with the fire escape. Was sleeping, heard a noise, looked up, saw a person trying to climb in. Beat him about the head with a Castle Greyskull He-Man Playset. Didn't help it was like a week after I saw Lost Boyz I think the movie was (vampires) and it freaked me out hardcore.
Now I won't live anywhere where I can't nail the windows shut, and I walk the house at night to check the window locks, and I keep a bat/golf club in easy reach of my bed, and sleep facing towards the window. I try to put something large like a dresser or entertainment center infront of them whenever possible.
Whenever I'm outside at night, especially when it's really dark, and I hear noises I get really, really ready to fight.

Deja Vu happens to me so many times its not even funny. When ever it happens now, I just stop, think about it for a bit, and go on with life, even though I still get a bit weirded out.
I try my hardest to stay inside my room late at night. Why? Becuase I used to go into the living room late at night to read fanfics, and guess what happened once at around 1:00 PM? I heard the crunching of leaves coming from the backyard, and I heard WHISPERS! It was sooo fucking scary... Im getting chills just writing about it.

Feakiest thing huh... This happened at my grandmothers house. The house where she lives is in the countryside. Thought there are neighbours close by she has a pretty large lot of land. Being so for from town when its dark there its DARK. If there is no moon then you have trouble seeing 5 meters in front.
Anyway when I go to sleep its too dark to even see the door of the room some nights. Well one such night I had, guess you could call it a nightmare. I dreamt there was a figure over my bed with a knife. The fear was so real that I woke up abruptly, only I couldn't move. My body refused to even twitch. My breath was ragged, and my heart was pounding like crazy and I wanted to get the hell out of that bed but I couldn't move. I remember trying to get up to turn but all I could do was roll my eyes. What made it worse was that it was so dark that I couldn't see past the edge of my bed, so I didn't know what was there...
Never been paralyed with fear before... don't want it to happen again.
-snip- Shit man! I don't wanna experience something like that ever.
I don't know if i really have bad eyesight or they're just playing tricks on me.
One time, we were out camping and were just walking along the road minding my own business. I went to talk to my friend about something when out of the corner of my eye, i saw a girl dressed in black, standing on the side of the street. When i turned to look at it fully, it wasn't there. Maybe i'm just being paranoid but this has happened a lot of times under different circumstances. Usually the figure appears near some trees and i see it out of the corner of my but when i turn to really look at it, it isn't there. It gets really freaky sometimes...

This reminded me of something.
Occassionally if I'm lounging around reading (always happens when I'm reading) I'll see flickering lights out of the top-most corner of my eye, look up and see nothing.
Doesnt come across as freaky, but at like 2/3/4/5 in the morning, pitch-black darkness(outside) it is.

Freaky thing... I dreamed that I had a bunch of roses, to give to someone... not sure who, but for some reason they rejected the flowers, and slid them into my hand.
I woke up with a row on straight cuts on my palms.
There was another thing where I was at summer camp (stay-over type), and it was like, 11PM, and a bunch of kids (about four or five, including me) were gathered at the window for some reason or another.
Fucking ghost flew right by the glass. Stared into it, floated out to the fores out back.

I've also had some freaky things happen to me while sleeping. This one time, I could have sworn something had rammed into me, hard. I woke up, and there was nothing, but I heard what sounded like a wild pig snorting right next to my ear.
Some other times, I feel a really hard push on my back, and I wake up lurching forward. Also whats happened is that I knew that I had been standing in my dream, but then it felt like my feet had been swiped out from under me, and I fell hard on my side, and I woke up sleeping on that side of my body.

Two really freaky things have happened to me
One time, we were going out to the country or somthing, and i was just sitting out in the car, looking out the window, and i see this boy in like really old (30's,40's) style of clothing, and as i pass in the car, he turns round to walk down the road, and hes got a huge chunk of the back of his head missing and he has blood stains all down his back, fucking scary
Another time, i was in my kitchen, when i saw a black figure running really fast past the window, and i looked out the other window and the figures standing in my back garden, chalk white face, he kind of sneered at me and then ran straight through the fence at the back of my garden

Pale face, though? A Vampire Ninja. With a lightsaber, perhaps, hidden in a secret pocket on his arm holster of throwing knives. Did he have like eighteen swords? And six daggers, eight wands and a pair of scythes?
Hmm, if i'm right, then it's the return of :stained

God...if stained future popped up my garden some day, i don't know what i'd do. I'd better buy a few hundred tons of weapons to strap to myself just in case.
If he does pop up, i'll throw about 19,000000 throwing knives, two tomahawks, and a few grenades. THen i'll fight him with swords and nunchucks, and finally take him down with my nuke, conveniently strapped to the sole of my boot...an easy place for a quick draw...when i break my foot off in his ass.

I've lived in New York all my life. Once, when I was 7 I saw someone standing outside my window....ON THE 17th FLOOR!!! It was a pale figure who's face was half-hidden in shadows. BUt he had ruby red lips and black teeth, and yellow eyes. It was November. And his breath left fog on the glass. He looked at me, and his lip curled up into a snarl.
I screamed and ran for my parents to investigate. They entered the room. No one was there, but there was still fog on the window from where the figure had stood. I spent the night with my folks, and eventually had to switch rooms. We eventually moved.
We still don't know what caused the fog, or what happened to the figure. To this day, thinking about that creature's face, with those yellow eyes...
This took me about 10 minutes to type. My hands are shaking. I don't like to think about it.

Well, some other weird shit has happened to me... I have some weird ass paranoia. Like, this one time, when I was sitting in the office at my previous house, the one where I heard the whispers, I felt, in the back of my head, that something was at some range behind me. When I turn around, nothing.
This other time when I was living at that house, me and my friend accidentally scared the crap out of ourselves. You see, we had both just seen the third HP movie. So, we were walking from his house to mine, which was about one block away, because he was sleeping over and we had gone to get a video game to play. So, we were talking about the Dementors. As we spoke, it started to get dark, fast. We tried to look calm at first, but because of the darkness, we soon freaked and just ran to my house.

Well one of the weirdest things that ever happened to me was about a year after my grandfather had died and I was about 9. I was with my favorite cousin and we were messing around in the shed where the pigs were kept at my gram's farm.(All the pigs were dead) Suddenly we heard footsteps, and creaks of the floorboards above us. We were both convinced it was our grandfather. We told my gram and she told us that it was probably just rats. Still they must have been some big ass rats.

I do the same thign Link. I once was net fishing off the coast of North Carolina in waist deep water in one of the saltwater inlets. Near a small reef/sandbar.I had this huge net I was messing around with the fish in in the murky water and I felt something almost rip the net out of hands.
Pulled it up and saw a shark's tail and top fin and I screamed like a girl and jumped into the boat. I'm not comfortable going into the water period in the ocean, and I agree, if I can't see the bottom, I'm not going in.

Umm, puberty doesn't start until about age 12 in males, maybe 11, but never 7 or 8, as far as I know. I remeber wondering what a kiss was like seven years ago, but that didn't mean that I was going through puberty. But back on topic, when ever its late at night and I'm going down stairs for some water, my senses are always on overload. I get super paranoid in the dark. So, sometimes, my cats freak the hell out of me because they just seem to pop into the room and meow right when you least expect it.

My imagination is always out of control. I don't swim in water that I cant see the bottom of because of it.
It's the opposite for me. Mostly because it was a lake and the bottom was all mucky with leeches/salamanders in the shallow ends. We'd canoe out to this raft in the center of the lake and swim. I'd imagine it'd be different for the ocean, but hell, I've never even seen the ocean! (well, from a distance, but I doubt it counts)
Moving on though... Freakiest thing?
hm. Well, I used to live in a very wooded area. Really, the only road to the place was dirt with the occasional pavement piece. I'd grown up running throught he forest by the deer trails (deer-shit trails, to be more accurate. lol.) playing in streams, and generally avoiding home. Occasionally I'd grab my blanket and pillow and stay outside in my brother's tree fort.
Now keep in mind, my parents never really told me about the dangers of this, I doubt they noticed I was gone so if it was warm enough, I'd search for an alternative to sleeping in my own stuffy room with my sister who was afraid of the dark (unshaded lightbulb, anyone?).
So one night (I was about 5-6) I was out there sleeping when a howl/whine wakes me up. I go investigate, 'cause that sounded pretty close and what do I see? A fucking coyote staring up at me! I'm amazed I wasn't eaten that night, because I was only five feet in the air at most, and if that coy-dog wanted to it really could have gotten me. (thankfully, the only thing they seemed to eat were our cats, judging by the way they disappeared around there)
I spent the night (and half the day) huddled against the tree with my blanket and pillow over me, afraid for my life. And completely terrified to come down, lol. At least I had enough sense to recognize a coyote for what it was, and not a "cute, love-able, puppy"
Yeah. I never slept outside like that again.

'snort' the only reason your propebly alive is because it already ate dinner.
i use to live right across a beach where(when i was 8 then moved) i use to swim in there. i come out at night and watch the sun goes down across the ocean. i was a beautiful sight. it was a good experiance for me. sometimes i thought that the sun needs to be cooled down and it needs to take a bath from being too hot.
anyway i had a pet dog when i was 8 which i loved dearly. i couldn't find my dog earlier at night so i just shrugged and went to sleep.
i woke up in the morning as usual and went to the beach sometime after. what i found in the train tracks amazed me and sad. as flat as a pancake my dog, crushed by the train. it wasn't a pretty site i tell you.

The freakiest thing that happened to me was pretty freaky. I was watering my garden one day in the back yard and when i was watering I saw this thing move so I put apart the buses Big ASS SNAKE JUST ruses out. Needless to say I dont water the garden anymore.
I also freak out about the Ocean. NO bottom, then I aint going in there.
Snake? hm. I'm not afraid of snakes, given that they are garden snakes and not anything poisonous. I admit, though, unexpected things like that scare me to death.
I just realized my post wasn't as much "freaky" as "scared for my life", sorry. I do have a few ghost stories about the house I live in now. Like when I was sleeping in one of the upstairs bedrooms and I heard a noise from the closet, I thought it was my cat and went to go drag him out of there (he gets into the oddest places, afterall). When I opened the door there was a sudden chill wind and I heard something rush past me. (Keep in mind that this happened in the summer, and paying for an airconditioning isn't something I'm willing to do)
Okay, rather freaky right? but I still thought it was my cat. So I go in search of the the damned animal all over the house and upon passing the cellar door for the third time I hear scratching. Freaked out, again, because this can't possibly be the cat, can it? So with a frying pan in hand I unlatch the door to see these big yellow/golden eyes staring at me.. that did belong to my cat. He couldn't have possibly rushed past me when he was locked downstairs.
I was extremely freaked out at the point, but ready to forget about the whole damn thing. So I back upstairs to bed, but just when I was about to pull the covers over myself I noticed the closet door was closed, and I knew for sure I hadn't done it. I gave up on sleeping in that room by that point, and only enter the room when I have to.
(Thanks for putting up with my horrid story telling ability, lol. You should see what this looked like before I edited it.)

I'd say the freakyist thing thats happened to me would be when I was 11 and I started waking up in the middle of the night from a bright red light in the backyard(my room was in the back of the house). I was born deaf in my left ear, but I'd never had any trouble with them before then. That morning I woke up with both earlobes swollen and it felt as if something really hard like metal or plastic had been jammed into my earlobe somehow. I also had a headache. I managed to get the things out of my ears and it appeared to just be normal organic stuff. Every so often for the next two years the things would reform in my earlobes, and I began to have nightmares about someone wearing huge black goggles drugging me in my sleep and operating on my brain and I wouldn't sleep without the lights on and some kind of white noise like a fan or tv on.
When I turned 14 the things stopped apearing in my earlobes and I just tried to forget about it.
Later on I moved into another room which I preferred because I had always heard footsteps in the attic above the back room which kept me up at night.
Unfortunately in this room I had my first experience with what you might call sleep paralysis. There were angry voices hovering above me and I experienced the feeling of someone choking me and then slitting my throat. It's sometimes difficult for me to be in a position where I feel my throat's exposed now. Especially when I'm sleeping.

ok I got some stories.
like everyday before I go to school I got to go outside and start my car to let it warm up before I leave well one day my step dad thought it would be funny if he scared me when I did this so I was walking outside and he just ran and tackled me to the ground. I was really freaked out now everymorning I have to have somebody go out there with me so I dont get freaked out.
another time it was like 2 am and I had to take my three dogs outside to use the restroom (1 half pitbull/half boxer, 2 full blooded german shepards) so I was standing on the porch and I see movement by my garage. well I went over there and there were these two guys trying to get in and I just stood there paralysed. one turned around and seen me. and liked sneered/smirked at me and pulled out this huge knife and started walking towards me. well at that point my huge german shepard named harley came bounding and barking right in front of me scaring those guys off. I think w/o him I would have died that night.

I was being blamed for stealing stuff in the bathroom my sister and I share, I didn't do any of it. a few nights of constant yelling and in my room, I saw a greyish blob just foating in front of the bed, I was pretty freaked but asked it to stop stealing my sister's crap, no more yelling at me, ever. I was around 7.
When I was visiting a great uncle, my cousins went down into the root celler where theyused to slaughter the pigs. They were all giggling and having fun, we got to the bottom, and I saw blood stains, they didn't look that old, and everything was dark and shadowed. I ran out of there like a bat outta hell, my cousins didn't see anything and asked me why I ran out.
Whenever I'm at a cemetery, especially mititary ones, I get...flashes. Like I'm getting hit by a cannon ball, shot my a musket, or feel my lungs collapse. Not fun.

Another thing that happened to me was when I was in Taipei (The northern bit in Taiwan), my Dad and I went to this museum for the Emperor's palace's ruins or something or other. No offense to anyone.
After about half an hour, I get chills and start feeling really really sick, and So I head downstairs to the lobby. In passing a corridor close to the stairs, I see this group of men who were just... there, speaking chinese. So I'm like, ooookay, and I head downstairs, feeling sick the whole time.
The voices of the men were constantly in my ears, like I had put on earphones, and when I got to the lobby, I saw them by the information desk. Funny thing was, when I sat down, they vanished.

I've almost died a few times. Once when I was 4 I fell off the swing at the top and my neck almost landed on a rock with a point I would have been cut clear through.
My dad, thank god for him (though I don't believe in god) was there and caught me with his hand and the rock hit his hand poor Dad. But he sadi he would have do it again so he lived I lived were good.

Reading these stories makes all mine seem rather boring but what the hell.
One time when I was younger I had a dream where I was a policeman, as many 8/9 year old boys do, which stands out REALLY vividly in my mind.
I was wandering outside the bus station near where I live (A single storey, brown brick building with a wall around the parking area - about 3 foot tall with a fence between 8ft tall pillars - I was just ouside that) and was smiling, chatting, generally having fun. I got out my gun and started aiming at people and going "BANG!" at them - they started laughing. I'd grinned at them and, being the attention seeking kid I was, started to shoot at some cans lined up on a wall. I'd shot the cans off and, for the hell of it, aimed at the joint where a pillar and the main wall joined up - to make a right angle - I'd shot in there and a split secod later I felt the bullet exit the back of my head, I can still feel it to this day. I stood there for a second in total shock and then crumpled to the floor. The curious thing is - I didn't feel any pain what-so-ever, just shock at what happened. The back of my head felt numb, like a local anesthetic but without the slow muscle responce you get with it.
Anyways, there's my story, enjoy and criticise as much as you want. I'll probably upload another one soon enough cause that was the second most traumatic experience in my life.
This is brought to you by Gav Inc.
That is rather freaky. I never have very vivid dreams, if any, except for the ones that trick me into thinking I've finished an essay when I really haven't. Or typed up a chapter that I was supposed to and posted it only to look the next day and realize it wasn't there. Really annoying dreams..
I'd take them over ones like yours anyday, though. (welcome to the site!)

Thanks for the welcome, I've another story I'm willing to relate.
I was about the same age as in the last one I posted, so about 8-9 years old, I'm not sure. Anyways, I was in my parents room, which was the smaller room at the time (It's mine and my brother's now) and I'd just woken up. I was in my pajamas and walked into my room (a bigger one which I shared with my older (moved away) brother and younger one) and froze. At the back of the room was was a wizard (bright, red/yellow/blue robes and a pointy red and yellow hat (what a traditional wizard looks like) and he was waving a wand around and saying something incomprehensible. At the front of the room, about a yard infront of me, was my brother. stuck on a spit over a cauldron of boiling liquid (it wasn't water) with a werewolf standing over him. The werewolf looked about 8ft tall with a snout and brown fur covering its body. It was standing on two feet and its breathing was ragged, like it had just chased something. I was frozen in place in fear. I watched and it tore a piece out of my brother's leg. I think he screamed but he was gagged and that part never registered in my mind too much. There was no blood. I woke up at that point but was still paralysed with fear. I tried to scream but couldn't. After four attempts I managed to yell to my dad and I was able to move again.
That was the most traumatic incident in my childhood, luckily, and It's been stuck in my memory for about 7/8 years now. The only reason I can type this up is because I've had some Dutch courage and the insecurities displayed in it haunt me to this day. Anyways, I know this can't compete with some of the stories on here but it's my contribution.
This story is brought to you by Gav Inc.

Hearing things like that makes me glad I don't remember my dreams.
Wow,yall scaring me with my own Flashbacks of scary moments(Keep looking behind me every 10 seconds.).
OK,one of my friend lived with his Grandma whose house is Haunted,he told me once that his mom saw Grim Reaper walking past his drive way,A fucking Grim Reaper. :O_O: ,and yea there are ghost that appears in the house randomly, and let me tell you they do, and they make noises to spook the hell out of you.
Luiji board game is one scary game. :O_O: ,kept feeling something was watching me after playing that thing,I played that game when there was a Thunderstorm going on so that was a double spook for my friends.
My campin trips stories, iono. My 3 cousins and I were high from marijuana, one was sober,we were just walking round the woods till we saw something, ghost or alien still don't iknow even till this day,we tried to call out to see who it was but it refused to confirm to who it was so my cousin thought he was a threat to our family since he was within couple hundreds of yards from our camp site,so he shotoff some warning shots with his service pistol, looked at us with the blackest eyes you'll ever see,no color in his eyes except black :O_O: ,one look at us,he started jogging away,My first thought was WTF,where he runnin to,there ain't no road for another 3 miles,no cabins for another 40 miles,he jogged away and disappeared out of sight,we just letted him go to scary to confront him.My cousin and I just left it to our imagination, pretended it never happend. But those eyes always coming back to haunt me,I failed sniper course cause of that incident,to scared to go into the woods at night.(Happend when I was 15 so I probably forgot some events or to fuckin scared to write it).

I can think of only one instance in my life were something seriously freaky happened to me.
I am, by principle, a rather fearless person. I’m not scared of the dark, i'm not afraid of burglars and I have no superstitions, if you don’t have hard solid proof about something I don’t believe you, it’s just the way I am. The only time I can ever remembering loosing any sleep over anything was when I was 15 years old and it was a beautiful winter day. I was skiing at a small little area near the Twin Cities (the most heavily populated area in Minnesota) called Hyland Hills. The area is rather pitiful (only has like 300 feet vertical) but its only like 10 minutes away from home so I pritty much live there during the winter.
There was a ski race class going on for like 10 year olds. (Ski racing is basically you go down the hill through a set course that is marked by bamboo polls sticking out in the snow. The point is to get as close to the polls as possible when you make your turns so you are taking the straightest course possible down the hill, thus you have the fastest possible time.) Well I was riding up the chair lift with 3 little girls who were part of this class, and I talked with them and they were very nice girls so when we got to the top of the hill I agreed to watch them make their run. The whole class was going down the hill in a line and going through the course one after the other.
They got three turns into the course when one of the girls rode over the bamboo stick causing it to bend down, when she got off it the stick snapped back and hit the girl I was sitting next to in the eye. Since the girl was also moving she impaled herself on it and it went right threw her eye and into her brain killing her instantly.
I can count the number of times I have cried since I was 10 on one hand but I balled my eyes out for about 10 hours after seeing that, and I didn’t sleep for about 3 days. All because I felt so guilty, before I realized she was dead I was actually laughing at the fall, it honestly didn’t look that serious from my vantage point, all I saw before I skied down to her was her getting whacked in the head by a poll…when I got to her I stopped laughing pritty quickly.
I am no longer bothered by what I saw but I have still never skied Hyland Hills again not b/c I’m scared or superstitious but out of respect for that girl’s memory.

I had a weird one when I was like 12. Because of it I’m really claustrophobic
I was in my house with my mum and she had asked me to get something out of the basement. My basement is tiny, I mean most kids couldn't get into it./ so I was really not liking this at all so as I crawled in my mum went upstairs to the 10 by 10 hatch at the tell me what I was supposed to be doing.
About an half an hour into this I began to feel strange so I asked my mum if there was anyone in the house besides us. There wasn’t.
About five minutes later I felt something bush my foot, and cause we had no pets this scared me a bit. I could see my mum standing above me so it wasn’t her.
Suddenly I felt something bit me and it was deep, by this time I was literally pissing myself I was so scared. I shot out like a bullet. Crawling around on my feet were two fat assed rats. I screamed for my mum before passing out. You got to understand I was scared shitless and was bleeding and everything.
When I came around I told my mum, but she told me when she came in she hadn’t seen no rats. So we spent weeks looking for these rats but we find nothing to show that any rats had been there except the tiny scars a the back of my feet.

I never really get freaked out but I can say I'm now definately freaked. Last night me and my partner had chips for tea and After turning of the cooker the chip pan literally burst into flames. I was almost shitting myself coz there was a huge flame coming out of the pan and fucking black smoke every where. It took us an hour putting it out and doing damage control , and six to clean out all the smoke. I'm absolutely terrified of fire, but instead of screaming and running out the house I went into a trance. If it wasn't for that calm trance I probably wouldn't have been able to put out the fire. I can definately say I'm freaked lol.

Dude, I am EXACTLY the same. OMG, I won't go anywhere without some weapon after I got robbed walking to school.
The freakiest thing that has happened to me, off the top of my head, is me having a dream that my grand father, who just died, was being held hostage by a creature resembling this mud bad guy from Batman. The creature had star shaped poo and I had to kill it by cutting its poo in half....yeah...that's sort of wierd.
Keep looking back here for edits, I have many a freaky story, they're just not surfacing in my mind right now.

Once, when I was about 9, my uncle, father and I were going turkey hunting at my family's ranch in the Panhandle. Our ranch house is a wooden, 2-room cabin, and since it was a warm spring night, I opted to sleep outside because I have always loved sleeping outdoors and wasn't afraid of the dark.
After drifting off to sleep, I am awakened by some terrified pig squeaking. Groggily, I sit up on my cot, turn to the noise, and all of a sudden there is this huge boar sprinting towards me with a coyote tearing off after it! I rolled off of the cot, ripped open the screen door, and once I was inside, watched the boar get ripped to pieces by the coyote. This happened about 5 feet outside the door, and when the coyote was done, it looked straight at me, and howled. Needless to say, I don't ever sleep outside at my ranch without a shotgun or rifle within an armslength.
If you don't think that a wild boar is all that scary, just trust me, those things can get huge, and with their foot-long tusks glinting in the moonlight, they're fucking terrifying. Add a coyote to the mix, and you've got one scary experience.

I've had a couple of freaky things happen to me before.
When I was in tenth grade, for the whole spring semester I felt that I would never come back to that particular high school as a student but wouldn't go to a regular public school either. One month into summer, Texas started its charter school program and I was the first student enrolled into my local one.
Here's another one:
When I was 14, my maternal grandfather died. Since he and my grandmother lived in a small town, the body was laid out in their home instead of at a mortuary. That's freaky enough, but what happened next frightened me so bad that I have a deathly (no pun intended) fear of funerals.
I saw my grandfather standing outside the screen door of the kitchen and I could smell his cologne coming from _outside_. He wasn't transparent or ghostly-looking. I stood there just staring at him, but when I looked back towards the casket, his body was still inside. When I looked back, there was no one there. But there were two footprints in the ground that disappeared as I was watching.

I used to see a lot of stuff that wouldn't be there when I looked again when I was growing up, but the most common was a spot out the front of a house I used to walk past on the way home from school, I would always see a dog just sitting there whenever I wasn't paying attention, but any time I looked or thought about it, it wouldn't be there. When I told a friend at school about it, he introduced me his brother's friend who lived there, we asked if he had a dog and he said it got ran over in the driveway ages ago. Once I knew there was no dog, I never saw it again. And about dreams, I've always loved those dreams where you fall from really high up, then wake up just as you hit the ground. But I'm an adrenaline junkie, so that's just me. Most people I talk to hate them.

After reading all the freaky occurrences in this thread, I don't think mine would ever come close...
Ah well...
Ahem. A couple of months ago, I was staying up at around 3 AM in the morning doing shitty Economics homework in the living room. My dad was on the couch, watching some show about alien abductions and sleep paralysis. I, of course, being the procrastinator I am, watched a bit with him.
I shortly went to sleep with the lights on, the curtains shut, the door closed. Everyone else in the household was asleep at that time.
At about 6 AM in the morning I woke up. The lights were off, the door open and the curtains were open and blowing in a slight breeze. It was one of those bluish, early dawns. There was this annoying buzzing in my ears, and I found that I could not move at all. My vision was kind of blurry, but I could see this greyish blob at the foot of my bed, bathed in the early dawn light. My mind registered one of those typical alien shapes: grey, long and skinny, enormous eyes, pear shaped heads...
Anyways, I stared at it, being unable to close my eyes or move my head. It stared back at me. After a few minutes, it reached out, but then my dad just peeked into my room. My vision cleared again, the buzzing subsided, and I jumped off the bed and ran the hell out of there.
Sorry, I'm an inept story-teller. :D

When I was about 7-10 years old, one time when I was in the bedroom, my mom was in the room with me and I think she was replacing some clothes in the closet. When I was about to climb the bed, a hand griped my ankle to stop me, of course me being impatient to go to sleep told my mom to stop it and that I want to go to sleep. Take note that I didn’t look over to my shoulder and just told off my mom with a whine. My mom answered after a bit of pause that she was sorry and then the hand removes its grip. After that I immediately got to sleep.
When I was about 15 years old and lived in a different house, my mom told me that about incident and confessed that she was not even near me at that time. She told me that she didn’t see anything preventing me climbing my bed but didn’t want to alarm me and just said sorry and not to scare me. It gave me a shudder after she told me and up to this day I never forgot that day.
Sorry if my story is a bit confusing, I’ve never been good at explaining events of my life.

There was something really weird that happened to me when I was about 12. I was sleeping in my bed and I thought I was dreaming I heard some voices around me so I pretended to sleep while I listened to them. They said "Hey, let's wake her up!" then another person said "Alright let's do it." Now my mother was down the hall and my little brother still slept in his crib. I felt someone actually grab my shoulder and shake me. I jumped up and turned on the light grabbing the lamp at the same time. There was no one in my room.

hmmm, when i was like 10, me, my brother and my two cousins decided to camp out in the backgarden. The tent we used is kinda like a house made out of material, its got beds plastic windows and curtains n shit.
So we watched Halloween and then went outside at about midnight and sat up in the beds and my brother started telling ghost stories. And then my cousin told us about this girl who had camped in her backgarden and been stabbed by some crazy lunatic passing by, anywho about 10 minutes after that story my brother and my cousins fell asleep and i was just lying there scared shitless about that one story. (this was because im one of those people who gets left home alone and gets found an hour later standing in the hall way with a knife and a metal pole in case someone sneaks in).
So i was lying there in the dark and i heard this tapping on the window thing next to me. and then i heard it again 5 minutes later along with my name. So there i was with some creepy ass tapping noise on this thin window thing and some whisper going "Lauren....Lauren..." So basically I screamed bloody murder and ran to the back door in tears, wrenched it open and threw myself under my bed. The next morning my 80 year old next door neighbour came across and apologised to me and my parents for scaring the shit out of me by pretending to be some murderer...It took a whole lot of birthday presents for me to forgive that guy i tell you.
Interesting storys. I don't really have many wierd things happen to me but i can remeber two scary moments.
I was about 10 (from memory)
One night i went to sleep as usual, fell asleep fine, and then i got woken up by this heavy breathing sound, like really heavy, like someone was doing it right near me, anyway there were people in my house but my door was still closed and im a really light sleeper (i wake up at the drop of a hat), so i started to freak out because it sounded like someone was in the room (it was pitch black dark btw) anyway, i didnt move for like 30 minutes, when i finally got up the breathing stopped and there wasnt anything in my room.
The other freaky moment was not long ago, at my mums house i was on my computer as usual (its a 2 story house) and i was home alone. I heard someone slowly walking up the stairs, and i checked out the window, couldnt see any cars to signal that my mum or sister had gotten home, so i was sort of nervous. Then as the steps got to my door, the door opened like - PAINFULLY slowly (ugh). ANyway i was pretty scared, and the door opened and no one was there, i can see out the doorway from where i was. I spent the next 30 minutes searching the house for someone and i found nothing.

Creepiest thing that happened to me was when I was 5 or 6 my family and I went to go visit my grandparents. On our way back from the store my grand parents house caught on fire. We got out of the car and my grandad came screaming out ofthe house covered in flames. When we went to the funeral we went to go see our grandparents for one last time before they were buried. What wesaw were my grandparents but instead of crispy bodies they looked like their bodies weren't licked by a single flame.

I recall one night about two weeks ago, when I was rather tired, I tried to go to sleep. At that short time between sleep and awakeness, my mind just scattered. It felt for all the world like something was trying to break my mind. I tried to open my eyes, I could not, I tried to move in some way, and I could not. I finally started fighting back and screaming in my mind and I eventually managed to fight it off, but before I did, it seemed like I heard murmurs. I have no idea what they said, but just thinking about this situation has me twitching. I was unable to sleep for hours. I still get a little worried when I try to sleep.

A freaky moment was one day about 2 years back, I was reading a Civil War novel and right when I got to where the main character got shot in the right leg, my right leg ended up feeling as if it was suddenly set on fire and it wouldn't stop! Then weird banging sounds was heard above me which happened to be the attic. Oh yes, and it was at night and I was home alone. :) It was one of my rather interesting and intriguing moments - but still freaky.
I have had others but that one was most note worthy. Or at least I could remember it. Actually I remember another one now! -pause- But I'll refrain from retelling it.

Why did I have to enter this thread? My TV's broken and now, ontop off everything else, i'm going to have your freaky stuff on my mind freaking me out.
Anyway, when I was around 5, whenever I closed my eyes i'd see these...things. They looked like beasts, and the kept on laughing. Then the picture would fade and i'd see stuuf that would freak me out. I don't know if it is normal, but it still freaks me out today.
And whenever I can't hear anything I freak, badly. So whenever I go to sleep I always put music on so I don't go insane with paranoia.
And in my older house, me and my brother both woke up at the same time. Neither of us couldn move, and above us was this spectre, mwith my grans face in it. We put it down to a dream, until that morning we found out she had died. Trust me, we freaked.
Similair to Indo dreaming some things happening to him, I dream entire days. Months or weeks before hand. It affects every part of my life. Hell sometimes I even dream my self going to the toilet. And in the dream I react the exact same way as in real life, and in the dream I know I dreamt it before. I've began to get over it, but it still makes me shiver

A few of the freaky things that happened to me.
I'm very afraid of the dark for reasons I can'r remeber and alwasy have a blade handy so you know, anyway I was sitting at my computer reading fics and all the sudden out the open window I hear really heaving breathing, not human.
This wouldn't really have bothered me outside omg! but recently there have been rumours of a mountian lion living outside behind the elementry school... and the bones to prove it. Not only that but a few days later the dogs went crazy and I herd something outside. When we checked the next day the trash cans had been ransacked, so you know our dogs have never barked like they did that night. It really scared them to.
Also there IS a reason I don't go out at dark besides my fear of the dark. I was walking one night, I was almost home. When I heard this cyote howling. No big right? Thats what I thought until I heard at least thirty more coming from all around the town... and about 5 near my house. I was so scared I nearly ran home the only thing that stopped me was that I didn't want to call attention to myself. The next or few nights I heard a cyote howling near my window...
I will never go outside at night here again alone and unarmed. We hav eliteraly it seams hoards of cyotes on the edges of town in a town about a square mile, oh and I live right next to that school, the one with the suposed mountain lion den.

I know what you mean by the blade part. I've been told I have an "acute paranoea" so I sleep with a knife under my pillow. Freakiest thing to happen to me? I have a few and a few suppressed ones I can't concentrate on to well.
I've had dream deja vu but that's nothing compared to the women on my mom's side of the family. They always know when someone in the family is going to have a baby. They don't know who but they have some dream with bubbles that they don't explain, just say they had the bubble dream and then with-in two months someone says they just found out they're pregnant. The last one to have a baby was my aunt and both my mom and my gramma had the bubbles dream.
My mom sometimes...see things. We both do but, my mom more than me. It's not walking and there's something looking at us. It's more of a it's night, I'm reading a book on my bed and there's a spider the size of my palm and slowly walking up to me I see out the corner of my eye.
Me being me, and slightly afraid of spiders jump and grabbed my book and try to squash it as it runs around my bed trying to avoid the book and escape. eventually I grabbed a cup so I could use two hands and got it under the cup but, I didn't know how to kill it without freeing it. So I grabbed paper to slide under and flipped the cup with the paper at the top and pushed it down to the bottom and never hit the spider. It was gone. My mom says that it's night terrors but I thought that only happens when you're half asleep or something.
I think she only says that because of some of the shit she's seen is worse than what I've seen and has happen to me. Deja vu dreams of ordinary conversations are ok but, some times she stares off into space with a weird look on her face. I don' t mention this stuff to her any more because she's hasn't been eating much lately and gets sick more often than usual

When I was probaly 7 or 8 (from memory) and was over at my aunt and uncle's house I went to bed but I kept hearing a little girl laughing and singing from the closet in the room I was sleeping in, but when I openned it all I saw was a picture of my little cousin who died by getting hit by a car while skipping across the street to the park.

fuck! Something sort of similiar happened to me...
I was trying to sleep, but I kept hearing a little girl crying outside in my backyard. When I looked out the window, I swear I saw a tiny dark girl's ghost or spirit...something! I jumped back into my bed, shut my eyes extremely tight, and went to sleep in about an hour.
Omg, Even now, thinking about it creeps me...

well something freaky just happened to me
ok well not freaky but still scary
ok I work at a movie theater
and at about 6 pm a dead body was found in the parking garage next to our theater.
and an hour later they are pulling the murderer out of one of our theaters
like he went to the movie after he just killed somebody
and im the one who tears tickets
so I was like face to face with the killer at one point
when I found out I was so freaked out.

I've seen and done a lot of freaky shit in my life. I don't know if I've got time...
The most consistantly freaky is random psychic moments. I'll dream something and it happens, freaks me every time. Or I'll be sitting there and think, "Hey, I need to call Person X." When I do they're having the best or worst day of their life and really need someone to talk to... Or I'll see something and know what's about to happen as if I've seen it a hundred times before. These things don't happen often but they always freak me when they do.
I've been to a couple of "haunted places". There is one I went to which was supposedly the site of an indian battle. The road across it is perfectly flat and I've tested it with a carpenter's level, but if you stop your car and put it in neutral, you'll start rolling again. Not fast, but it is movement.
My favorite freaky moment happened when I was in Jamaica. I was hiking up a mountain when I came across an overgrown dirt road. I follow it up to the summit where I find the ruins of a building. You could still see where the doors were but it was mostly just a foundation and a few scraps of wood. As I crossed the threshold it was as if lightning was coursing through my body. I just felt ALIVE like never before. I walked the length of the building and just felt the need to stop at one point. I stood there and looked around at the mountains and valleys. I felt that power again and I just had to thank God for letting me experience this.
When I got back to my job the next morning I asked some of the guys what was up there. It used to be a church before a hurricane wrecked it and the people built closer to town. I was floored. If that is the power of a church that hasn't held a service in fifty years, what were they doing that the rest of us werent?
Hell yes I believe in magic, God, and the supernatural. I've been there, I've seen and felt it. I am probably the most screwed up christian you'll ever meet.

I don't really know about freaky things because i am seriously paranoid in the dark. i used to sleep with a night-light, but now i'm kinda just used to sleeping witout a light. Its still freaky as shit because i hate having any part of my body hanging off the bed, because its like... they're left.. i dunno.. vulnerable? or something.
so anyways, when I was about 12, i used to have a bunk bed with a sofa underneath. one night i went to bed after watching this ghost documentary and I was proper scared. so in the middle of the night, i wake up for some reason and see my door open. then i hear these sort of clunking footsteps. freaky as shit and i was too scared to even see what it was... still don't know what it was because at that time, my parents rooms where downstairs and my brother was at uni.

Back in July I was doin 80mph on the turnpike on my way to Miami, when my tirew blew out. That had never happened to me before so I freaked out and hit the brakes (which I now know, was not the smartest thing to do) and my car flipped three times before it stopped and landed on the hood of the car.
Other than that, it's more of a "by the grace of god" kind of thing. Seeing as it is September 11th, five years ago my mom should have been in a meeting in WTC 1, but she had flown home a day early because I was sick.

I used to see... things, I guess would be the word for it. Like flashes of humaniod shapes. My parents were a bit concerned so they asked this Chinese monk to come by and take a look around the house. He asked me a few questions and he said that I have this spiritual third eye. So thats kind of freaky and cool at the same time. According to him, members of his order spend hours meditating to open that third eye.

You should try it, could be amusing.
I've not really got any freaky stories, only the sort of competition me and my brother have going on.
You see, whenever one of us gets injured, even minor injuries, the other one gets injured a bit worse within a few weeks.
In year 9 at school (his first year) I was wrestling with my friends on the field and one of them ahd em in a headlock. It was alright, I was almost out of it but thens some idiot comes along and rugby tackles us to the ground. I, being in the headlock, landing really badly and pulled several muscles in my neck. Then the next day, one of my friends shouted to my brother across the road, to ask how I was. Course my brother had neer walked up on his own before so what does he do? He runs out from behind a bus and gets hit by a bloody car! Luckily neither of us were badly injured, I just had to take it easy for a while and he was kept in hospital overnight. Funny thing is, I was fit and healthy before him but I got a bronchial infetion so I ended up staying off school longer than him!
As I said, not really spooky but still strange.

I was at a sort of camp thing on the Q.C.I. Probably in the top 5 most beautiful places in the world, just ask anyone who's been there, but any way we were doing a hike and we walked through this kind of tunnel that was were the native shamans were supposed to have resided, so being the stupid adolescence we were we started yelling for the shamans to come out and show us their powers and things. Well that night the guest speaker they had been talking about came and talked to us about the power of the shamans and told the story of the last kid who did that. Long story short, he kind of went crazy and did this really intricate crazy looking pattern all over his body in ashes before killing himself, I think he actually plunged a knife into himself. Some of the camp guides started crying because they had been there when that happened so we knew they weren't just shitting us.

This thread is turning into a load of bullshit.
The freakiest thing that has ever happened to me is I came into this thread and read all these stories and cried for the human race as a collective whole.

One day I was walking along a beach, when a jellyfish got up and flew towards me...it then spoke to me, telling me to do the hokey cokey and turn around, waving its stingers about as it said this...it then expolded in a rainbow of light, and I felt energised, like I had been hit by lightning...indeed, there was even a slightly burning smell...anyway, ever since then I have looked at life in a new way...

Dude, totally!
I was surfing once, right? And like, my body was all numb and shit, and this jellyfish came up and grabbed onto my back - but I totally didn't feel it because, you know, I rock. So anyway, I got onto shore and my buddy saw it and was like "LOL Dude!!" so I ripped it off, and then it got all huge and fired Mega Beam at me.

I have never heard such bullshit, including the stories my unfortunate godson's Headmaster come out with. I escape Azkaban for this? Your stupidity has me wishing Bella was here, if only to alleviate this pain. Without further ado:

I was swooped by a couple of owls. That was freaky. They are black and have red-eyes. I cant remember their names. But yeah, it was night and out of no where, these red-eyed things just shot at me. I ended up jumping off the deck and into a pond.

About the freakiest thing that ever happened to me, was that I said something about how I wish it would start raining, because it was roasting hot, and then about 5 minutes later, it did start raining. Doesn't really mean that much though, since I live in Scotland.

Indeed.
This didnt happen to me, but a person I used to know said he was walking through a park some night and it was all foggy. He said was surrounded by a group of ghosts and he passed out. I think he was pissed out of his mind, though.
