As a "Faithful" member of Ross's Yahoo! group I just recieved the following email, if anyone is interested in this fic anymore, as a seminal HP work I feel I should See It through::

    Hey everyone,

I changed everyone's member profile so you'll all receive this email,
whether you're still interested in this group or not. If you're not
than I'm sorry, but if you are good news. In about 2 weeks I'll be
transfered to my new permanent duty station (I'm in the Navy,
remember?), and I'll have normal, uninterupted access to the internet
once again. That mean back to daily involvement from me, and yes,
dare I say it, continued updates on PoT and BoBS. I don't have much
time now, but I'll be back like I said in a few weeks, and I promise
to answer every email, etc. I've gotten in the last 2 months. Talk to
    you then!

    Ross

And all the world's Harry/Ginny shippers rejoice.

Actually, I'm okay with Ross despite the heat he gets around here. He plugged my story on his list some time ago.

Forgive me if I don't jump for joy. I mean when has Ross ever broken his promises? /sarcasm. If he knew anything, he'd keep quiet until he had a chapter ready. All this promising only harms his image.

Gods damn it, as much limited faith i have in his word if he is serious i now have to go back and read all the fucking thing again. :wall: *sighs* I agree with Master S that he really shuld of waited for when the update was ready. From what i remember it wasn't much Harry/Ginslut, as a faithful DLP patron should i fear reading it again?

IF he post new chapter(s); it would be a good idea to re-read all of it.
The main problem is that a lot of the things that are now considered cliche are present.

As to Harry/Slut, there are slight interaction in maybe 3 or 4 chapters but it's nothing really :puke:
Unfortunately it might still head in that direction in later chapters...

I don't think he'll be able to contine that story after so much time. Too much time has passed for him to just get back into swing of things.

Not to mention that all his great ideas are now considered clishes. Even if he somehow managed to produce another chapter, I feel it'd feel as just another Independant!Harry clishe-fest, not a revolutionary story it was 2 years ago.

Still, his story IS a legend, so I'd read new chapter, if it ever gets posted.

Apparently, he already does have much of PoT finished, he just didn't post it. Yeah, don't believe that that much. Meh, I'll read it, because it used to be one of my favorite stories, but I don't think I'll like it as much as I did before.

I actually hate his story know. It used to be great when i first started reading but know i think that he may have helped create many of the cliches i have come to hate..

His story was great because it was a first. Now, its nothing special...a conveniently long fic for those times you need a good read.

Yea exactly, it was the fic i read when i was trying to stay relatively close to cannon. I used to think that stories couldn't come close to ever matching Ross' length and imagination. Now i think that it's just an average story that is really long..

I remember enjoying his story about 1.5 years ago .. but now ? we'll see .. my taste changed a lot since I read the stories Birth of the Phoenix , the miranda flairgold stories and my all time favorites : back to the future , of blood and power and reign of power ;] I'll just have to read the whole thing again.. ;/

I think it fair to say that RossWrock had more influence over HP fanfiction than any other single author. The number of copycat stories Power of Time created was - is - huge. And outside of those stories, so many now-cliches were either started or popularised by him.

He's a bit pathetic now, but for the above alone he will forever be a fanfic legend.

Fuck RossWrock. I waited for that update patiently, and then one day I forgot all about him. Now I'm reminded of that agonizing wait, and it pisses me off.

    Then don't write. :/

Nah, not for me, he should just leave this alone. Its not going to be finished and that is fine. Even at the time I read it more out of interest in the nuances of the story not because the plot held my imagination. I think that is the pitfall of all re-writes. It can be fun and interesting to read but in the end they lack the drive and momentum of a true AU.

I never even bothered to add the story to my alerts list. Back in '09 when I first read it, I assumed it was abandoned.

And yet, there is still barely half the number of PoT fics than there are of Silver Aegis stuff.

Well, whatever he posts, it's already got Necromancy in it.

I agree with this, especially the last part.
