I used to love Linkin Park...still like them...but I did like Collision Course, why didn't you like it?

I'm not sure what it is, but something about it just rubs against me. I liked Encore, though. It worked pretty well with Numb. (Great song on its own) Still, I wished they hadn't taken out the 2nd part of Numb when they did Encore. That was my favorite part.
I really like In the End, too.
Eh, I liked the Hybrid Theory album, but Meteora? It just sounded so... "sell out" like. Some of the songs were alright but they played "Numb" one too many times for me to like it in the slightest. :|

I just got Hybrid theory a few days ago. Personal favorite is either "In the End" or "Runaway"
Yeah, I few of their songs have been overplayed. .Still, I like to compare it to, oh, I don''t know, "Boulevard (SP?) of Broken Dreams"? Now THAT's a song that was over played. Wished they played "Holiday" more...

I see this straying way off topic... come on people, the story, not chapter titles or whatever the hell started this.

Yes, I am using the brown color to make this post. Why? you ask. Well the answer is very simple. I am using brown because brown is the color of shit. And shit is the type of music Linkin Park has been putting out recently.
Their original release Hybrid Theory was good, but their albums have been getting significantly weaker as they have begun to sell out. When they first made it they were one of the founding groups of "New Metal", but then they made the abomination of "Reanimation", which was basically a crappy version of Hybrid Theory's songs done as remixes. Then they released Meteora. An album which I wish I never spent my money on. It was whiny, bitchy, pissy, moany, and just overall BAD! I will grant that it had one or two decent songs on it... But thats about it.
Linkin Park as a group is dead to me. Hence the brown color for the post. They are shit. They are sell outs. They are an example of everything wrong with music today. They are, a good group, gone horribly, horribly, commercial, and bad.

Well, Giovani, I say this:
Bring it on!
You do have a bit of a point, though. A lot of groups are good, then get sent to hell.
Case in point, Rolling stones was okay, but they sucked at the Super Bowl halftime show.

First off spell my name right bitch :)
I'm only gonna hit Meteora with this post as my problems with Reanimation are easy enough to guess.
Ok where to start... Lets start with the song Numb. Look I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the overblown teenage angst is not needed. If I wanted to hear someone screaming with a somewhat above average electronic beat in the background I would volunteer at a suicide prevention hotline in London. But as you have probably guessed by now I don't live in London and I don't volunteer my time working the phones at a Suicide Prevention Hotline.
Session was below average for a mixing session.
The only truth put forth by the song Nobody's Listening is that the second it comes on Nobody's Listening.
As for the Albums lead single? I think I'll let the songs lyrics speak for themselves.
Something that Doesn't Belong on ANY CD:
When this began
I had nothing to say and I'd get lost in the nothingness inside of me
(I was confused)
And I let it all out to find
That I'm not the only with all these things in mind
(Inside of me)
But all the vacancy the words reaeled
Is the only thing I've got left to feel
(nothing to lose)
Just stuck, hollow and alone
And the fault is my own
And the fault is my own
I want to heal
I want to feel
What I thought was never real
I want to let go of the pain I've held so long
(Erase all the pain til it's gone)
I want to heal
I want to feel
Like I'm clouse to something real
I want to find something I've wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
ANd I've got nothing to say
I can't believe I didn't fall Right down on my face
(I was confused)
Looking eberywhere
Only to find that it's not the way I had imagined it all in my mind
(So what am I)
What do I have but negativity
Cause I can't justify the way everyone is looking at me
(Nothing to lose)
Nothing to gain, hollow and alone
And the fault is my own
And the fault is my own
I want to heal
I want to feel
What I thought was ever real
I want to let go of the pain I've held so long
(Erase all the pain til it's gone)
I want to heal
I want to feel
Like I'm close to something real
I want to find something I've wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
I will never know myself
Until I do this on my own
And I will never feel anything else
Until my wounds are healed
I will never be anything
`Til I break away from me
And I will break away
I'll find myself today
I want to heal
I want to feel
Like I'm somewhere I belong
I want to heal
I want to feel
What I thought was never real
I want to let go of the pain I've held so long
(Erase all the pain til it's gone)
I want to heal
I want to feel
Like I'm close to something real
I want to find something I've wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
The people who think that this is good music are probably the same people who beat off listening to Hawthorne Heights and thinking of slitting their wrists the wrong way to get attention.
From the Inside sent a stream of greyish color bile rising up from the inside of my liver and out through my mouth -- and that was just from listening to the overly whiny vocals. The shitty AABBAABB rhyme scheme that it dropped into at times and the predictable music/screaming intervals made me wonder whether or not it was worth murdering each of LP's members.
Breaking the habit is the track that finally broke me of the habit of listening to Linkin Park
Faint was tolerable if you get the version of it without the vocals and insert your own lyrics.
On the whole the "OMGZ I is going to slit me wrists da wrong wayz so I kan fail a7 suIcyd3!1!!1!!11!" factor on Meteora was the only thing that should have gone off the charts.
I rate this album somewhere between that nasty watery stuff that comes out of a 3/4ths full Heinz Ketchup squeeze bottle thats been sitting like that for 3 weeks and a bag of flaming dog shit.
Either way it's just not digestable.

*shrugs* I like pretty much everything Linkin Park puts out, to be honest. I like the new group their lead singer is in, I like Mike Shinoda's Fort Minor Cd, and I liked both their 'official' albums. I thought reanimation was creative for the most part as well. I don't think they sold out, and even if they did, I really don't care. Why? Because it's still good music, IMO, and it's not like they're in it for the money, they always experiment with different stuff, and as long as they continue to put out good music no matter what the 'official genre' is, I'll continue to enjoy it.

Thats the issue though, they sold out their sound -- and their newer sound sucks ass.
It's like nails down a chalkboard, except with the anils you don't have to pay money/waste time downloading to hear it -- you just have to ask the dumbassed kid in your class to go up and do it.

The only linkin park I don't really like is reanimation, to much rappy/remix crap, basically the same songs just screwed around with. Hybrid theory was the best I think. Meteora just seemed like the same thing with some different words. I like hit the floor on meteora though...

Linkin Park is not one of my favorite bands, though I do like some opf their music. I tend to pay more attention to the beat though, as the lyrics are too angsty for my tastes. However, the lyrics are hard to ignore, which explains why my media player says the last time I listened to a Linkin Park song was over six months ago.

Linkin Park--
There are just so many superior bands of similar (and better, IMO) genres for me to waste time listening to them. Their prime was back with Hybrid Theory, anyways, and from the radio, I can tell I haven't missed much by not buying their newer albums. That kind of music is FTL, anyways. If you want good, hard, dark music, listen to Alice in Chains. They are by far the best, if not the most popular, band of that genre.
