Okay, this amazes me. The makers of d20 Modern, which is basically D&D in a modern setting, put the Drop Bear as a creature for one of the supplements called Menace Manual, meaning that it is one of the monsters that you can fight. I can't get a picture of the entry as I don't own the book... yet.
