I really, really wish that Dark Phoenix was continued. That was an awesome story, especially where Harry gained the phoenix wings. I really wish that authors would complete their stories, but as an author that has run out of inspiration at times, I know why the discontinuing of stories happens.

 

I read Emergence of Heritage, and it was a good read. Recommened indeed, even more so if it had never been abandoned. Shame really.

 

Just about all the stories I like...I wish people were more willing to let someone else finish them. Its usually stuck right at the climax (hehehe...climax) of the plot.

So Ive been reading Hp fanfics for some time and it always just sucks when a good fic is abandoned.

I don't think there actually is a thread like this, but moreover, there isn't any purpose for one. It sucks that so many cool stories are abandoned, but there's nothing that can be done about it.

I don't know if it can be called abandoned, but I would kill to read The Truth I'd Die For (the sequel to the Lie I've Lived).

Speaking of sequels that never were, I wish Cyberwraith9 had written another Teen Titans fic after Avatar and Adaption. (especially since Adaption ended as if there'd be a part III to the series)

The Stranger series is almost too obvious to list. It's so old school and follows a lot of cliches (that weren't cliches at the time), and yet I have reread it so many times and never gotten bored. Grindewald vs Harry is still one of my favorite fights of all time. XD

 

Since I last answered this question, we've had some epic updates for Circular Reasoning, and some updates for Gabriel that made me question why I'd wanted to read it.

Everything else still qualifies, and I'd like to add Of Harry and Harry.

I reread The Stranger at the moment and despite its flaws it still
entertains me. I couldn't say the same about Joe's Hero Triology.

A few stories which come to my mind right a way.

o The Potter Conspiracy which got really good after a rocky beginning. Its tense atmosphere at least gripped me.
o The Phoenix and the Serpent, an old time classic and truly great fic. The writer had real talent. Probably time to read it again.
o A few bluminous8 stories I miss an update.
o Snakecharmer
