I know there are many people from different countries. And because I'm very curious, I just have to ask.

In the poll are only the continents, because I didn't know which countries I should add. All are to many. So it would be nice, if you write it in a reply.

I'm from Germany - Europe.

It’s a lot of stupid people out there so I wouldn’t be that surprised if that happens a lot. I do think you have it a lot better than us Swedes.

Some people think we have polar bears walking around on the streets. They also think all females are blonds and whores. How stupid can you be? It has even gone so far that when Swedish women travels to foreign countries they tell people they are from another country, otherwise they aren’t treated with respect and a lot of guys give them not very proper suggestions.

Anyway I might go to Austria in a couple of weeks because I and a friend of mine are going on an Interrail I think it’s called. We will fly from Stockholm, Sweden to Milan, Italy and travel across Europe for a month.

Miss Selarne

Onwards to victory! But wait, what about the wasps? I know they're tag-teamed with the ladybugs. The wasps figured out how to get into my house first and showed the ladybugs how. Maybe you should modify that gas bomb to kill all bugs, just in case.

mournthewicked
11-02-2005, 08:59 PM
Ahh. *modifies for spiders and all other insects, bees too*

Miss Selarne
11-03-2005, 06:38 AM
Note to self: Never try to talk online before school again.

Maybe we shoud get a spider gun too. Shoot spider hordes at the bugs, they make their webs and eat them all! Ever seen Lost in Space? At the end, all the little spiders hatch (that scene gave me nightmares) and eat. Grab those spiders and stuff them in a gun. The ladybugs attacked again. They were flying in front of my door so I couldn't get in the house. I ran for it and ended up only letting 1 in which was on my pants. I'm now completely terrified of ladybugs.

Been to Southern California to visit my Aunt in San Diego. Kind of boring, the thrill for me (I was in 3rd grade) was touching the Pacific Ocean. Pathetic, but yeah.

Procrastination is a bad habit. My parents say it'll be the death of me, but as long as I can procrastinate and still get A's in my classes, I'm fine. I like being naturally smart, I don't have to work. Lazy me.

Really? Let's see, I went up to Maine and Canada when I was little. Can't remember. I've been to Florida tons of times thanks to living in SC. And went to Cali (as seen above) and before 5th grade took a tcamping trip out west for 2 weeks. We made it all the way to Las Vegas where we spent 2 days. Las Vegas was nice even though I was only 10. Can't wait to go back.

Miss Selarne
11-07-2005, 09:43 PM
Never been overseas. Two years in a row though I've been offered to be a Student Ambassador and spend 3 weeks over and Europe but I think its too much work to apply. And if I hadn't moved, I would've gone to Italy with my Latin class for a week or so. I'll get over to Europe someday. I'll just be content with exploring North America for now though. US, Canada, and Mexico.

Usually my family goes camping so we actually have to drive thorugh the states. I think I've been to about 36 of them + Canada and Mexico.

There's places in England where the water needs to be boiled lest you wants to puke your guts up for a week. Don't know why but I think it's something in the water that make you violently ill. Don't think London is one them though the water still tastes disgusting.

Manchester, England.

And London isn't great... It's a shit hole.

Seems a bit rich coming from someone from Manchester... Well some parts of London are great while others are terrible.

I guess that makes it a lot easier to write Harry Potter? I mean, getting names of places and using the brit slang?

Yes, it's very easy. What annoys me more than anything else is when I see a quote like "Harry walked down the cobbled Oxford Street". I get sooo pissed off. Do they expect horses pulling carts with hay in them or something? :x Honestly, some people just can't write London to save their lives.

Almost as annoying is stuff straight frm 'Oliver Twist' or 'Annie'. You know-those fics whee Harry grows up in the streets of London. I'm like NO!! You don't get gangs of beggar kids in tattered clothes slinking through alleyways with rats running along side! Honestly!

The last point in this rant is speech. When I leave a review telling an author that their dialogue is unrealistic and stupid, they usually say something like "how would you know". My reply: I LIVE in fucking London, I think I know!! I always make a point of reading my dialogue aloud to make sure it's realistic. If I can't picture one of my friends saying it to me, I don't write it. Simple as.

End of rant.

sounds like life there isn't the most sanitary.

Life is perfectly sanitary here. I've been drinking from tap water from birth and have never had any problems whatsoever from it. In fact, wen I go abroad, I find that the water tastes wierd so it just depends on what you're used to doesn't it?

I was born in Belarus.

Anyone know where that tiny, almost non-existent, country is?

Actually I do...

Belarus shares a border with Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, and if I'm not mistaken Lithuania. I'm quite good at geography even if I did hate the subject at school.

Sarcasm? No.We actuall moved twice when I was in Elementary school at Detroit,Michigan.3rd Grade,my parents didn't like the neighborhood cause my older sister almost got killed by a drive by,so I left my friends behind which suck, and moved to California. My parents rented a house in Anaheim,Ca until they found a house to buy.It wasn't hard when we moved again to Roseville up north in California since I didn't know noone in such a short time and hated it there. But yeah, the neighborhood was very good .Good people, good enviroment, safe neighborhood.

Ok, let me clarify, Parents Do NOT always know what is best for their "children", and sometimes even choose to do the complete opposite despite knowing Better. (If you so wish, I'll post Child abuse statistics and population counts to compare)

You do not have kids, I'm assuming based on your age, so how can you condescend to us, or speak in a tone as if your the enlightened one who "knows" something those of us without kids dont?

There's some other reasons to.They always wanted to live in California when they came from England, they had everything planned ,but they got kinda sidetracked with my sister being born so they settled down in Detroit by my mother's relatives place. After the incident with my sister it gave them the reason to move to the place where they always wanted to live at.They always wanted to live in LA,they wanted something to inspire us to be in the showbusiness, and what better place to do that then LA where all the Celebs are,Hollywood and stuff.Thank god we didn't move to LA.Too much pollution, spoiled ass kids who don't have to work for their stuff,to much violence.

Sorry,Sorry, ain't gotta be so offensive Geez.My Naivety just got to me.Probably cause of my upbringing.I always respected Parents cause it's hard raising a child, and the child they're raisin is the next generation that will keep us going.I DO NOT respect irresponsible Parents mind you. They are a disgrace to be called a Parent.

I am a Uncle and Godfather to my own niece so yeah,I'm "kinda" like a parent,I think. But yeah,My wife and I are going to be taking parenting class cause we are planning to have a kid in the very near future.

Roseville is very nice compare to Sacramento or the Bay.It's very quiet here unlike Detroit where you hear gunshots at night all the time.

LMFAO, I've lived in the south my whole life and I've heard most of that before... but living near Atlanta, I don't get the brunt of it. Out of my whole family, I have the least pronounced accent, though I'm sure it's hidden somewhere. I'll probably recognize it more when I move up north this summer.

If you're looking for a good example of a true (redneck style) southern accent then try these (I'm just winging it so give me a break).
Boiled Peanuts = Bold Pay-nuts
Guitar = Gee-tar (sometimes Jitar or Get-are)
"I'm going to..." = "Ahm-gonna"
"That's a large truck" = "at's a big ole truck"
Any word ending in "ing" (ex. hunting) = HuntN
"I don't have a southern accent" = "ahn't gotta suthrN axe-ent"

Thank you, Moody. You've made me feel a good deal better about myself. I've caught myself with an accent a couple of times a month, and I always correct myself. My mother uses a real strong accent when she is playing around (not as a joke, just because she assosiates it with fun), but I've heard just about every word on that site from my grandparents. Compared to them, or my mom, or just what you say you do, I feel that my accent is not very pronounced at all. Then, of course, I remember how every time I leave the state for somewhere like Florida, or California, everyone automatically notices that I MUST be from Texas. And it completely pisses me off.

If people don't know where Canada is, it's the country that is attached to the US. I don't know how many people live in Toronto, but I do know its in the millions. And yes, people speak english here.

Surprising, I'm the first Swiss here. (at least who posts)

And no, it's not Sweeden! It's surprising how people can confuse the two contrys... ok, both are in europe, but that's all they have in common...
I'll move soon to the capital, Bern.

And for accents, in Switzerland every valley has it's own! You can tell from a few words where they come from for aproximately 50 km...

Anyway, surprisingly Austria and Australia have the same problem and it a continent in-between. But maybe it’s just a language thing. In Swedish; Austria=Österrike, Australia=Australien. What’s the translation in say German, French, Japanese …

I'm from a city,(if it can be considered one) called Malden, and a state called Massachusetts. I really really dislike this state. Born in Boston and lived in Malden my whole life.

You know how New Yorkers, have a New York accent? Well I have this annoying thing called a Boston Accent, where I lose the R's in alot of words that end in R. Like Park for example, I say pahk.

I'm from Lima, Perú. Currently living in Utah, US. The place is filled with religion with not so many places to go, unless you own a jeep, a snowboard or a bicycle (Ever heard of moab? greatest place on earth).

A poll i saw a while ago said that >40% were mormon... which shows. The college campus pegboards have "Room for rent, must have LDS standards" which i still don't know what they mean. People don't party as much.

Accents are cool, i can't get enough of the spanish-spain accent. Thank you Germany 2006 worldcup!

Somebody said they were form Iran... what does "chee-toh-ree" mean? I'm guessing that's how it's pronounced, and I'm 60% sure it's farsi.

Mormon standards would be things, roughly, like not bringing in a coffee maker.

Caffiene is strictly prohibited, a lot of mormons get really anal about it.

Small town in Washington, called South Hill. Boring as hell, plus there's a lot of housing developments around, so if it really downpours, a lot of people are fucked.

And it's the State Washington, you wouldn't believe how many people assume I live in D.C. --;;

I am originally from a small town called Cow Country, or familiarly, EBF, but moved to this lame excuse for a city 10 yrs ago. I prefer shopping malls over silos, but there is pretty much nothing to do here. I'm around 3-4 hours from NYC, so my friends and I go down there once in awhile. All the bustle of a huge metropolis beats the hell out of this ghettofied suburbian hell we call Syracuse. Someone, somewhere may have heard of our college sports teams, The SU Orangemen. Currently living in the Tampa Bay area of Florida in the USA, but I dearly wish I wasn't. Last month Tampa Florida was ranked the second angriest city in america just above New York city and below Orlando Florida. The only other real city in the area, St. Petersburg, is number 12 or so... Not a happy place to live.

I wish I was back in Knockpatrick, Mandeville Parish, Jamaica. I'd even sit through another Keswick (think week long fundementalist religious festival) if I could return to the mountains where I belong.
