This guy must die. He makes fucked up movies at no personal cost to him, b/c in Germany the film business can use 100% of it's cost as tax write offs.

I smell a crooked German mafia family using the asshole to launder money, heh.

Thank God that Germany learned from their mistake and changed the tax laws to remove the tax shelter.

Aye I saw just after posting that they recently removed the 100% tax shelter status from the movie business.

The guy is just insane, BloodRayne was so different it may as well be called another movie

Erm... Wtf?! A farcry movie? NO! That would just lower the game's quality and my respect for it... Just no. Video games and movies don't mix. (Fanfiction on the other hand...) The company that produced the game should be making an animated movie, not some stupid german dickhead.

By the way, how is it that he doesn't have to pay from his own pockets from this? I thought he just doesn't have to pay taxes for making movies. Will someone explain this to me?

 

If you dont understand what a tax write off is, dont post and dont rant.
The guy basically gets funds from different companies. He pays the bills from the movie creation with the money of the investor and doesnt pay taxes at all. After the film is ready he pays only taxes for the winnings and so in the end doesnt pay for anything, because the loan costs are written of by the taxes. He gets the winnings and everything works out if he plays the finance stuff well.

But now they closed that backdoor for him. The general idea to support german film making wasnt a bad one. It was just bad that the guy took advantage of it. I am just sorry for the people who would have made nice films with these advantages. Film making is expensive.

 

Hmm...very mature way to handle critism. Wonder if there is going to somekind bet like that if Boll loses the match, he gives up making movies and if critic loses he doesn't criticize Boll's movies anymore.
Anyhow, got to admit that guy doesn't give up easily.

Everyone's heard of Uwe Boll. He's an asshat, I'll definitely agree. They ran House of the Dead on the SciFi channel a couple weeks ago, and I watched it out of morbid curiousity. Biggest. Mistake. Evar. One, it was set on an ISLAND. Two, there was a PARTY on the ISLAND. And three, only ONE character had a gun on that island. ONE GUN on the whole freaking island. I'm no expert at military tactics (I'm just intermediate), but one rifle is NOT enough to fight off a horde (let's assume 100+, for the sake of argument) of zombies, no matter which way you stretch it.

 

I saw another of his movies house of the dead. I was a big fan of the arcade game, but that totally ruined it. They should remove his license to make movies if there is such a thing.
