I saw the spoilers tag, and thought someone had already gotten their copy. I was about ready to blow my brains out. Dramatic, yes, but I really want this book.

Euh, I got it today. And read it cover to cover. So you can blow your brains out, ILikeLurking. Might not be so smart though.

 

The jealousy I feel is probably a bit excessive. That said, was it worth the wait? Where would you place it in the heirarchy of books in the series?

 

I'm reading the spoilers thread carefully searching for hints of how good it is, while trying to avoid major spoilers.

This will end badly I think.

 

Can we just get a general idea of whether the book is good or not before the release date? No major spoilers, just a rating and general comparison to other books?

 

Adding onto what Aekiel said, can the first few posts that contain spoilers tag it at least? I'll stop checking this thread once I see spoiler tags, but I'm really interested in peoples general opinion of it, as others seem to be.

 

It's good. Has some moments of pure epicness. Though my top three of Cold Days, Changes and Turn Coat still stands. It'll probably fall somewhere between 4 and 7 in my top 10. Rating wise I'd give it a solid 4/5.

Edit: I won't post anything spoiler wise, obviously. Not even in tags till the 28th or so.

So I'm so fucking hype that Harry has now talked to two gods, both of whom want to help him, and I'm really pissed that I didn't catch that the Queens are the faces of Hecate. I had vague theories about the mothers being Fates, but this is better.

Fucking Jedi Knight. literally. This is amazing, and Karrin not becoming a Knight, AND THE FUCKING SHATTERING OF THE SWORD.

The book had strong pacing imo, and the final chapter is great. I'm so happy about Harry FINALLY putting on his big boy pants and deciding to be a god-damned man about the sword. Plus he accepted the fact that he may belong to Mab but isn't how she wants him.

I saw the word 'sword' in caps, and that's as far as I'm getting spoiled this book!

 

Since I don't have a problem with early spoilers, is the Parasite stuff resolved in this book or does it presumably end with Harry finally having time to tackle it?

I just reached the part where Dresden is having sex with Murphy....

She is going to die isn't she...

Just got it. Now Imma pull an all nighter. You know, it'd be interesting if somebody makes a HP/DF crossover and that British guy trapped in the crystal is none other than Harry fuken Potter.

 

Poor Dee-Dee. I really liked her character and I would've loved to get a bit of a closer look at hers and Nicodemus' motivations and goals. No idea WTF Tessa was up to.

I seriously thought a fuckton of people were gonna die at the Carpenter's house. Not sure how I feel about Butters as a knight of the cross...

This might be his best book yet.

There is one thing I am scared of though. I suspect Nicodemus will show up on schedule in 5 books. And now he is a man with nothing to lose. They destroyed him.
