I've been on kind of a Naruto kick lately and I was hoping people might be able to rec something where he summons something other than toads. Most all of the ones I've been reading lately while well written have Naruto with pretty much identical skill sets, toads, wind and clones. After reading stuff like Shezzas fic which kicked twelve kinds of ass I really want to see more of Naruto with a totally different skill set.

 

Men, honestly, if Naruto isn't summoning Toads, it's always something like Foxes, Wolves, Snakes or Dragons. If A Drop Of Poison didn't,t start of so men, i'd rec that. Rabbit Summons, yo.

 

Mostly it's dragons which gets stupid really fast. There are some Snake summoner Naruto or Slug summoner, for obvious reasons.

Yeah fair enough, I should have clarified when I said not Toads I didn't mean anything retarded like Dragons or Pheonix's. My upper limit on weird summons is stuff like White Tigers in that fic Prodigal Namikaze and even that's stretching it.

Snakes would be more than fine as long as it isn't some asinine villagers exile Naruto, he joins Orochimaru in revenge kinda crap. Slugs would be just fine as well but off the top of my head the only one I can recall that has that Naruto was getting trained by Mei and picked up the contract by accident.

 

Most of the Slugsummoner!Naruto I have read, had Naruto raised by Tsunade. The snake summoner ones have Orochimaru as his father most of the time.

 

Naruto:Ouroboros. Is an AU with a mad scientist Naruto and uses snake summons. Now that I think of it, barring the Rinnegan!summons, none of the canon summons even come close to snakes and toads.
