New Forum Features: @Notifications, Quote & Social Group notifications

    After some prompting from some helpful users, DLP has rolled out three changes to the forum software:

    1. @Mentions in posts. There's no autocomplete, however, it's enough to type username to notify someone. They will receive an email, don't abuse this.
    2. Notifications about quotes. When you're quoted, you won't currently receive an email but it will show up under Notifications.
    3. Spoiler tags are collapsable. It's just nicer, if more JavaScript.
    4. Social group notifications. Social groups with unread posts will show up under notifications. See https://forums.darklordpotter.net/showpost.php?p=794218&postcount=9 for more information.

    DLP is committed to finishing our first decade strong, we'll have quite a few more usability fixes and new features to come during 2015.

    I noticed that I received a notification in the Quotes section after quoting someone else's post myself. Is this supposed to work like that? Just curious.

    Having seen similar functions on other forums fail to do so, I'm lead to believe that editing anything in won't send an alert.

    Edit2: I definitely have the mention and quote logged on my profile, so perhaps if you're quick enough it does send an alert?

    Raven, I just noticed that username mentions aren't triggered by social group posts. Not sure if this is worth posting at all, since this may be by design.

    What I would really love is to get a notification every time an author of a story I follow updates the story in wba.

    Maybe the author can tag everyone who liked the previous story update? That would be awesome. (It's really not too much effort, copy -> paste, use a regex like: %s/, /,@/g. Replace the first one manually.

    I know Spacebattles recently added notifications for when the thread starter replied to their thread with a post over 120 characters, and limited it to the Creative Writing section of their site. I think they did it via Admin CP, but I could be wrong.
