apparently my 'enable:cookies' button on my internet explorer turned off but I don't know how to turn it back on. . . any help would be appreciated.

Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Move the slider to your desired safety level to enable cookies if you've accidentally set the slider to max setting "Block all cookies"

One way to do it in IE.
