    Summary: It was a unanimous opinion that Kayaba Akihiko, creator of the revolutionary NerveGear was a certified madman. What other reason would there be to trap ten thousand unknowing people of varying ages in an artificial world where they would live in fear of death every waking moment? What most of the world didn't know, was that Kayaba Akihiko was not exactly human.

    I really enjoy how the characters grow in this fic and how the POV switches rapidly between all of the characters so everyone has a chance to have a voice in the narrative. All of the characters remain true to their canon selves while being give more depth. Argo and Issei in particular really impress me in this story.

    For the most part this story is your standard SAO retelling with some DxD characters added in, but as the story goes on and the twists start to happen it really takes on a life of it's own.

    I haven't read the early chapters in a while, but I do remember them being a bit rough compared to the more recent chapters.

    All in all a very fun read.

    How much Highschool DxD do you need to understand for this fic? Been looking for some good SAO to read.

    Read it a while back and never felt confused about any DxD stuff (my knowledge of it is limited to crossovers and a few wiki searches). I remember liking it, but it's been a while so I'll give it a reread over the weekend and post a review then. Impression left me at a 3 or 4 out of 5 though.

    I mean if you literally read about 2 generic crossovers with a fandom you know you'll have all the knowledge of DxD you need.

    Feel like I'd be cheating since I haven't seen any DxD and so would just be assuming that all DxD characters are OC's.

    Quality really felt like it dropped after they left Aincrad. I stopped following ~10-15 chapters ago. Definitely falls in the Almost Recommended category.
