Just been released this week, who is playing this?

I've spent the majority of the day on it so far and am very impressed. You can tell that its an evolution of KOTOR - really deep conversations, immersive story and characters, etc - and that its done a really good job in many departments. Sound is fantastic, and the dialogue system works brilliantly. Combat so far for me has been good - though there have been a couple of situations where it has stuck as awkward for me, though having said that the same happened in KOTOR.

The lack of a decent tutorial like in KOTOR is disappointing, but it is not incredibly difficult to pick up and start playing. One thing I will say though is that they should not have catered for the Core system - my disk never stops spinning and with autosave on load times are far too long. They should have made it so some of the content dumps onto the HD, maybe something they will do for ME2.

Overall, so far it is Game of the Year by a long way for me and I don't really see that changing. Its very deep, immersive, and a large step forward for both RPGs and the quality of 360 titles in general. There are niggles, yes - but for me its been far too easy to overlook them.

Thoughts anyone?

 

My thought is that it would be incredibly awesome if it was ported to PC, since I don't have and cannot afford a 360, I researched it a bit and it looks really fun, but I just can't play it.

 

It is a great game. However, it will never be game of the year. It will probably go to Halo 3 just because it is Halo 3. Bioshock might get it as well. Also, Assassins Creed and Call of Duty 4. All of those have better ratings and will probably be in the main running for Game of the Year.

Assassin's Creed is great. Finished it two days ago.

I'll buy Mass Effects eventually though I've spent 200 bucks this month in Xbox games... it's killing me but I think I can wait a little.

Knights of the Old Republic's my favorite game. I've spent countless hours on each game (I even had to retake my final year's exams because of this game).

 

Yes, beat it two days after it came out. Played from Saturday at 4pm to Sunday at 7am. Oh my god. It was amazing. Almost have all the achievements for the 360 version. Some great twists and shit. Good game.

I'll get Mass Effect for Christmas, along with some sports game probably.

 

Loving Mass Effect. Maybe it is just me or do the graphics seem a bit grainy? As for assassins creed, well It is the shit. Nothing more needs to be said.

That game has absorbed my life.

 

I beat Call of Duty 4 in 1 afternoon... yeah, I was brain dead... Such a great game.

Anyways, I've been hearing rumors of Mass Effect coming over to PC later in the year or in 08, has anyone heard any details or are they just rumors?

 

Ea bought the souls of the Mass Effect team, EA'll port Mass Effect to everything from the PC to cellphones with their greed, rofl.

Rumours are only there because thats what Bioware usually do at some point, rather than because EA bought them. Whilst they have said there is nothing in the pipe yet I suspect that it will eventually go to PC. But if I were you I wouldnt expect it till late 2009 at the earliest.

Besides, you will have Dragon Age as an exclusive for the PC, nothing to complain about

 

While I'm sure Oblivion for cellphone is horrible, nothing is as bad as Harry Potter. That was just cruel. It was even worse than Lord of the Rings.

 

I laughed big time, they banned the game because of that! LOL

Still if it ever does come out for PC I'll be most likley first in line...
