How can someone have a "legal" sexual relationship with another underage person when they are 17, to have it turn into a "sex crime" the moment they turn 18? This is so obviously unjust and stupid that I have to wonder why this law is still in effect.

As for this show itself, a new creative concept, not one that I have seen done before. Its basically about a retired FBI agent being called in to help catch the man he apprehended on his last mission for the FBI. The man having promptly escaped prison. The man is Joe Carroll, an Edgar Allen Poe freak who murdered14 young women. Basically over his stay in prison, Carroll created a cult following and the show takes on from there as Hardy (The protagonist) tries to bring him and the cult down.

In terms of the show, it has its hits and misses, certainly watchable although I feel it shouldn't have had a second season (How I feel about the second arc of Death Note basically.)

The acting is very good, Hardy and his team are solid in their roles. The cult is extremely flat but James Purefoy steals the show as Carroll in my opinion, some of the best work in modern T.V as of the moment.

I'm inclined to give it 3.5/5, it's fresh, new, and exciting. But can at times be predictable and have those lull moments. There is currently little to be said, but more information will be trickling in over the next few months, so I thought I'd throw up this thread now.

What we know:

They are planning on there being six seasons.
The first two seasons will consist of the book, and the latter ones will cover the upcoming sequel. (which will have more of a focus on the New Gods)
Each season will have ten to twelve episodes, each an hour long.
Each episode will have $3-4 million allotted to it. (yay special effects)
It could air as soon as late this year.

This story was just updated, and I realised that it hadn't been put up for review. So I thought I would let you guys know about it.

Its a talented Harry done well, as far as I'm concerned. Quite funny in places and interesting all the way through. It starts in the first year, but it progresses quickly and is now in the fifth year. It has an original take on a lot of things like how Sirius was handled and Lupin for that sake.

It's pretty under appreciated, with only 67 reviews, but I really enjoy it, and I hope you will as well :)

It's been tough month for me and most people in my country. I'm sure some or most of you have already heard about what happened in here. If not, please check this, this, or this.

For years, I, my family, and most of people here are well-aware of the corruption running in our government. Seriously. Educations are falling behind, prices rising high, criminals and corruption running rampant all around, and even the police are corrupt, too. My friends, some of which are members of or involved with left-wing political groups, said these messes are caused by the democracy system. They said that the democracy system is just not working for our country. Some others, including my family, teachers, and most of my friends, said that the democracy system's not the problem, our leaders are.

To picture it a little: we're forced to choose the same type of persons, from the same circle of groups, throughout generations. Corruption, racism, and black campaigns are ignored by law officers. Bribes are everywhere. Our complaints aren't heard. And so many more. There is a saying here that says, "The corruption is being done neither under the table anymore, nor above the table. They bought the fucking table off with those dirty money right in front of our face, in broad daylight." They're exploiting the holes in our laws, and we're forced to keep silent and resist our protests. All in the name of democracy.

"You lost, so be quiet!" is actually something one of our leaders said couple nights ago in TV.

Some of my teachers - most of which have visited western countries (i.e. US, Europe, Canada etc.) - said that democracy system is so much better there. The corrupts are really arrested. Politicians are actually afraid to do any kind of corruption. And public representatives are actually represent the people - you can call the congressman right in the middle of the day, and your complaints are going to be listened to.

What I really want to ask is: Is any of that true? Is it true that democracy in the western countries are actually so much better? That your leaders aren't spreading black campaign across the country, corruption isn't running rampant, and you can actually contact your representatives without being kicked around (literally)?
