    What with the Make DLP Great Again Thread going I was thinking about how one might reignite some of the interest in the fandom besides the arrival of Peace Talks. Things like Thank God You're Here and Motel Randevouz got things going for a while back in the day, but have since died down.

    So... To get things going, I'd like to do some sort of writing competition or event but before embarking on any such thing, I thought I'd check what kind of fics people actually want to read. Go ahead with any other discussion, too.

    In any case, I'm all about that action/humour split because that's what I read the Dresden Files for.

    Voted for action, but I should clarify that I don't mean pure action. I take it that the "action" category refers to an action-mystery-adventure, much like the canonical DF books.

    I'm with Taure on this. I liked DF because of the feel and pacing of a mystery filled with bursts of violence, not because I want to argue about who is best girl (clearly Lara). Not to say these other things don't have a place, but they have to serve a purpose in the greater narrative, not just be the entire point of the story. That's not why I got into DF, it's not what's going to make me read DF fanfics.

    It's been quite a while since I actually read any DF fanfics, partly because its been quite a while since any actual DF books were released...

    But, like most of you, I liked fics that took on similar roles to the actual stories - adventure/mystery/action fics, with a longer plot, rather than one-shots and the like.
