    No Featherbed for Me is probably the pinnacle of ASOIAF fics (and Arya fics). The major change is that Cersei's and Robert's son (that she aborted in canon), is born, leading to the incest never being discovered, and Arya never getting to be more than a highborn lady. The fic itself is pretty incredible as all the characters have good and bad sides.     This is actually really good. White Walkers attack when Jon is with Mance, scattering the wildlings and leading Jon to the far North. He discovers a dragon that fled from the Doom 400 years ago. At first it sounds like Jon will just be overpowered and win easily, but that is not the case. The dragon is incredibly injured and they are alone in the North with White Walkers everywhere. Jon cannot control the dragon easily either. It's looking more like Jon will become King Beyond...

    Glory for Traitors This is an interesting AU story. Ned is sent to the wall to prevent a civil war. However, it is not the typical "Stark-wank" you often see.     I disagree with pretty much everything you've said. It has its weaknesses, like everything does, but its a pretty solid fic, especially if you keep reading. A lot of these "weak plots" and "weak characterizations" do have meaning later on in the story. Plus, some of these characters we barely see in the books; we have no idea how Tommen or Myrcella see things. We don't even have a Tyrell as a POV anywhere in the books. We have no idea how often these things, such as incest is mentioned....

    I have no idea what you are talking about, nor to which fanfic you are talking about... If you are talking about A Coat of Gold, I must say I am slightly confused. This is an AU, characters will be different. I will admit, the beginning is slightly weak as this was the author's first major story. The writing does improve incredibly though.     A Coat of Gold and it's sequel The Sunset Kingdoms are some of my favorite fanfics going at the moment. Mycella and Tommen are fostered in Winterfell during their childhood, and this leads to a small rippling effect that changes everything. A Coat of Gold starts pretty much after Joffrey's poisoning, with a less weak King Tommen taking charge.     Has no one read the actual series? Sansa was pretty much an idiot at first. She picked the boy she liked and barely knew over her sister, which got her wolf killed and Arya to lose hers. This isn't that surprising. She is like 13 and barely knows anything. Some guy wants the history of winter fell for some fabric that will make her look nice to Jon. I know girls that age who probably would do it. Plus... It's freaking a song of ice and fire. People make bad choices that...

    It has it's problems, yes... But I find this story to be pretty decent. My favorite part is how Robert is not a complete bastard (compared to how everyone else portrays him). He loves Lyanna and has stopped drinking as much and stopped sleeping around for her. Lyanna may not love him, but they are good friends. It's something I haven't seen before. Now, I do think Ned would pick honor over his family. He has done it before and I can't see him betraying his king for his sister.
