    Its needlessly complicated, but you can. And you still have to use that method to change things like your navigation buttons (Forward, Back, search icon, refresh/stop, etc...). Theme Resource Changer is a godsend for people who don't want to have to edit and replace system files every time they want a new them, too.     I shouldn't complain. >_> I ditched KDE as soon as they killed the 3.5 model for that horrid 4 ... travesty. I... dunno about uninstalling it, since its going to have a lot of the core Gnome3 files. But the panels will still be installed. I can hit alt-f2, and do gnome-panels --replace and it kills Unity and lets me run the old interface.

    I'm gonna assume you mean the icons and the black overlay. No. It's only open when you click the menu button. One of the only two things I don't like about Unity. The thing replaces the menu, rather than the old menus... The other is that all menu bars (I.E. File Edit View) and Maximize/Minimize/Close buttons have been moved to the panel bar. And I have yet to find a way to move the close/maximize buttons. Its unbelievable annoying. I kind of like it, but its not so responsive atm....

    Man. I've been checking the Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) Alpha3, on a second partition. I'm really liking the new Ubuntu-designed Gnome-Shell branch, Unity. Once it gets stable, it'll be epic.     The dock is Avant Window Navigator for linux (Ubuntu distro in my case.) The background is just something I found on Deviant Art while looking for a picture linked from a different site that had died. >_> Sauce if you want it. As for Ubuntu....     Pretty easy, actually. If you're using some form of Linux, like Ubuntu or Sayaban or Gentoo, the easiest way is to get two nvidia video cards. ATI has the shittiest driver support in the world. Windows, on the other hand, once you get them installed, it's pretty easy. With Linux, you just toss your cards in, install them, install nvidia-settings for your nvidia cards, and you're off. Windows is install, then point and click.
