I have to say, I put this fic on hold for a very long time. After reading your thoughts about it I decided to go ahead and read it. I'm very glad that I did so, it's been a very enjoyable read so far. Sad to say I've only got one chapter left to read and then I'll have to wait for updates.

Quest A knut for my thoughts

Is very difficult very very difficult, nominare to Prince of the Dark Kingdom by Mizuni-sama this story touches so many subjects that in a moment it is a little difficult to follow them all. Unlike other stories, in this work there is more implicit magic, other kingdoms, wars, gods, kings, politics, darkness. What I like most is that there are dialogues of ordinary people that give a twist to the story, everything is intermingled so as to result in the decisions and actions of each character and that I love because we see more of how it is in each individual Of them, its history its battles and its development I can not stop to reflect with each new personage that appears, this is the fanfic more intriguing, exasperating and beautiful that is read, of course that they begin to arise others, but only the time will tell.

For those who already read it know that a is not finished, I pray for it to continue.

I have a lot of favourites but the one I'm going to go with is His Angel by Durararaaa. By no means is this a perfect fanfiction. It's extremely fluffy, has some plot holes, a lot of bashing and I think it's probably good it got abandoned when it did but at the same time it was the first fanfiction that really drew me in and I really really loved the relationship between Fleur and Harry even if re-reading makes me realise just how fluffy it was.

Perhaps not The Best fic I've ever read, but undoubtedly in the running. It is the first one that came to mind when I started read through this thread.

The Lie I've Lived, for all its issues, is still one of my all time favorites, if only because I've reread it half a dozen times and it still makes me laugh.

Browncoat, Green Eyes by Nonjon. Who doesnt love Firefly? Nice weaving together of the two worlds and nice portrayal of River.

I think he means to exclude incomplete pieces. Which is a little ridiculous, considering some of the best writing in the fandom is incomplete.

i've read a lot of fics that i would have immediately listed here as my top favourite, only to find they've lost a lot of what i liked or my brain glossed over about them during re-reads. the only one i can think of that i unabashedly enjoy without any immediate flaws that comes to mind would be

The Dragon King's Temple by Kryal

there are fandoms i enjoy more than avatar or sg1, but this is the only fic i can think of that did a crossover with justice and without any apparent bashing

Since it seems no one has suggested it, for me, it's Just a Face On a Train by katheryne. It's a Spiderman fic based on the original trilogy with Tobey Maguire set after Doc Ock's attack on the train in the second movie. In the movies, the people who saw Peter save them on the train never managed to catch him again. But what if one catches him by chance? That's the premise this fic explores, and I've retained a soft spot for this bit of fanfiction for quite a long while now. It's nicely written, and I think the writing has aged well.
