Small Electronics Bag ?

This isn't really a "tech" thread but it involves tech... in a way. This seemed the best place for the thread.

I just got back from a trip in which my trusty old mini-backpack fell apart. I'd been using it for the last several years to cart around various small electronics. I need a replacement and I want to get something a bit nicer this time.

Current capacity needs:
  • Blackberry Playbook Tablet (7")
  • Nook Simple Touch GlowLight
  • GameBoy DS
  • Small Camera
  • Cellphone
  • 3 Chargers
*Important point: I don't want a bag that will fit these with extra space/room. I often put this small electronics bag into a larger bag (either a full size piece of luggage, a laptop messenger, whatever) so the smaller it is while still fitting that stuff the better. I.e. I don't want a case sized for a 10" tablet when that would be too big. I also do not carry this bag around like a purse -- my Tablet/Nook/Camera all have their own neoprene cases and I tend to take out whatever I am going to use and put it in a pocket/carry it. This is primarily for ease of transport/organization.

Current bags I am considering:
Those are all fairly expensive bags. I'm hesitant to make a purchase over $40 at all, especially without seeing the bags in question. I'd prefer to keep it around $25 even.

I have tested a Larger Sized Ellis by Overland and it was reasonably high quality. The others have good reviews.

I have a medium sized CourierWare messenger bag and it's awesome, but for this electronics bag I prefer something with zippers on it so I don't have to worry about things falling out when it is packed in a larger bag or thrown in the backseat. Also velcro can be irritatingly loud sometimes.

I considered a Kavu bag as they have several options around the right size but the materials seem a bit weak. Looked like they weren't water resistant and would get/show dirt easily.

Does anyone have a suggestion of another type of bag for this purpose? If so I'd really like to hear about it, as none of these seem like quite what I want. Otherwise does anyone have any of the aforementioned bags that can comment on quality/use?

It's very unlikely that you'll find someone here who owns those specific bags. My suggestion would be to buy from a website, a product that has actual reviews on the product from customers. With bags, it's usually things like cloth quality, zipper quality, etc and those are things that become obvious from reviews.

I said it once, and I'll say it again.

You need a Saddleback bag. <3

Yeah, I figured. The above bags are well reviewed.

Mostly I was hoping to get suggestions about other/new brands/bags from people. I just didn't want to start a thread and not appear to have looked around the internet and found a few options myself before posting so I threw up links to some of the bags I'd already looked at.

Hah, yeah Lutris, but as nice as those are... still slightly out of my price range for now.

Cool, thanks Vash -- the same company makes another bag that's more the size I want too while keeping the low price. $13 for something "fairly nice" would be about right.

V7 Premium Messenger Bag

That looks good.
