Private company holds NCO's in the US Army, in the Green Zone, at gun point? Smart move.

    It gets good:

    And bad:

And this honestly surprises you? PMC's (Private Military Contractors/Companies a.k.a. mercenaries) have been THE industry in Iraq ever since we invaded. Blackwater just got caught doing what they've all been guilty of. "Bodyguards" and "Security Specialists" have been operating above and beyond the law since the whole cluster fuck started. Yes, Blackwater is flagrant in their violations but then again the government is paying them more than the real soldiers so maybe they've a reason to get cocky?

And it's hardly new. The ex-Seal-for-hire may be a hollywood cliche but the idea didn't spring fully formed from the head of Zeus. So long as there's been people mad at each other there's been folk willing to do violence for money, or sport, or sadistic gratification, or...

No, but not being surprised is no reason not to spread the news. I hadn't heard the details; and DLP is my outlet for sharing shit like this.

I really, really can't wait until Blackwater or some other bullshit company tries this on the wrong fireteam. Their deaths will gratify me.

I am not surprised. This is what happens when wars are fought for individual profit rather then for the defense of a society.

Just speculation about the part where the BW Op says "this is my safety" *flashes finger*, couldn't the US Officer have pulled out his pistol and said something like "this is mine" *bang*?

For that matter would anyone be even allowed in the Green Zone with out following the rules?

Blackwater... who's played Oblivion? Remember the Blackwood Company from the Fighter's Guild quest line? Anyone else see some similarities?

Was never a member of the fighters guild, though I did kill quite a few of them in my time as a Dark Brother.

On topic, this somehow doesn't surprise me. The whole Iraq "war" has been FUBAR since it started.

Note to self: Do not get caught while causing a ruckus in Iraq. Do not cause shit. Do your job CORRECTLY! Do not piss off Iraqis and US military personnel. They have more guns and more people than you do. Make sure to send CC to Blackwater.

Ah war. A war based on oil, lies, and half truths. What more can you expect?

Iraq going FUBAR is a herald to the Middle East going FUBAR. While Saddam was an asshole (to say the least), his government kept the Iranians cautious, while the other arab nations pretended to be good little boys.

Now that power balance has shifted and Iran has no-one to be worried about and the rich Arab nations are still pretending to be good little boys, with US backing. This is a bomb waiting to blow.

Then of course there there's the terrorist breading ground that was formally Iraq. Ironic isn't it.. the war against terror (TWAT) ends up producing more terrorists.

I'm wondering if Iran's going to announce Blackwater as a terrorist organization. Sometimes they seem to be.
