Welp, looks like the ebook version of my novel has gone live! Two weeks earlier than forecast.

    Holy shit balls it happened.

    Distant Star

    The Reminiscent Exile: Book One

    Synopsis:

For Declan Hale, the Shadowless Arbiter, life has been simple since he ended the Tome Wars and forced a cruel peace in the mythical realms of Forget. Exiled to Earth for his crimes, Declan spends his days managing a small bookshop.

So when a familiar looking corpse appears in the dead of night, spilling his scotch, Declan is less than amused. Especially because the body is his own. Someone—or something—has sent a calling card from the future.

Daring him to confront his monstrous past.

The last time Declan went to war, Ascension City burned and eight million people lost their lives. The Knights and Renegades should have left him alone…

The story is urban fantasy, and for those of you who loved Wastelands of Time, you should really like this. Similar themes and plot devices (the Infernal Clock) make an appearance. I like to think Wastelands prepared me for this story.

GO BUY IT NOW FROM AMAZON!

Seriously. Buy it now. I'm hoping to fleece you all of $5.99 and go clear the top shelf of scotch at my local liquor store.

However, seeing as how this is DLP, and you've all helped shape my writing over the years, I'm going to offer the story FREE to whoever wants it. Just send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a PDF of the story.

I only ask that you leave a review - an honest review - on Amazon, as that'll help me out immensely. So how about it? Kickass story in exchange for a review? Or buy it and support me that way.

    I spoil you.

Oh, and for those who'd rather have a paperback version - that's due to land mid to late June!

    Fuck you Joe.

I'm pirating it and there's nothing you can do to stop me! Not even giving it to me for free.

    IN Y0 FACE.

Going to have a Nook version?

Hmmm, does this mean I can tell everyone that I have a friend who has published a kickass book? Granted we aren't really friends, but I'm tempted to take blatant advantage of the possible bragging rights... "Here guys! I got you a book for your birthday, it kicks ass and guess what? I KNOW THE AUTHOR!" ;)

Will pick it up, solid work Joe.

Edit: Used the "Look Inside" feature on Amazon and your first page grabbed me. If a Nook version isn't coming soon I'll grab the Amazon one and convert it. Cheers.

Fuck you, Jon. I'm adding you to my list of enemies. From now on, I will actively be working to destroy you and all you hold dear.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to any and all reviews.

Nook version is pending. Just checked the B&N store, and it's sitting in 'Pending Review'. So soon.

Damn right you can tell everyone! Spread the word high and low, to all known hives of scum and villainy.

Also, there were a few formatting issues in the Amazon edition. These have been fixed and should update on Kindle within 12 hours.

Amazon doesn't ship to South Africa, so no paperback for me.:(

I guess the Ebook will have to suffice.

To be honest, I'm not going to ask for a free copy. Fuck that. I'm going to gleefully spend my money and buy it, once it comes out for the nook.

(Pretend I used the Fry meme here with "Shut-up and take my money.")

You've earned my money with the stuff you've written here. You're style is definitely original and something I think the market could use. You're also one of the few authors who will take every piece of criticism and is trying to actively iron out the kinks in their works.

So you're getting my money whether you like it or not, good sir.

Holy shit! Been waiting for this Joe. I'll be picking it up in a few days and leaving a review soon after.

Also, CheddarTrek has the right idea, bragging rights will be had and I don't care if I don't actually know you.

I've been looking forward to this for a while. Congrats on getting it out Joe, and I hope it sells well.

Definitely agree with iLost in that you more than deserve the purchase. Besides, I know enough of your writing to be confident it'll be a great read.

I'll probably just buy an ebook copy off Amazon for now, but I am interested in the paperback. Is that going to be available through Amazon only?

As I don't own a kindle, I'll have to get the dead tree edition whenever it comes to Canada. Le sigh.

You know there's a free kindle reader so you can just read it on your computer, right? It's from amazon as well.
