The only real reason I'm hesitant is that I don't want to give too much lurk time, I might do a countdown type deal.

Day 1-2: 72 hours
Day 3-5: 48 hours
Day 6 - onwards: 24 hours.

 

That seems pretty easy to follow. What about the nights?

 

Personally I think 24 hours is too short. My ideal day lengths would be if you added 24 hours to all those times.

 

Presuming there's a mislynch and an NK every day up to day 6, there's no need to worry since at that point you're all dead. If not, well then there's an incentive to post and debate at that point isn't there? If however, general consensus asks for longer days, I might be inclined to do so, as long as y'all are incline to actively participate. I really just want to prevent lurk-wins and 48 hours with only two-three posts.

Nights are 24 hours always in my games.

The questions I had were:
1. Are role playing and flavor related or the same?
2. Why is role playing hated by (some?) people?

 

1. No. Flavor is for the betterment of the enjoyment of the game. Roleplaying not so much

2. I have no clue and it saddens me.

 

I actually really enjoy RolePlaying. It's not allowed, then?

 

I think it's allowed but it's frowned upon, mostly for this reason:

 

It annoys some people, but it also makes it harder to analyze your posts for motive and reasoning. It's like, I'm trying to play the game with you, not with whatever made-up character you're role-playing as.

That said, if it's just a small bit of light role-playing added to otherwise good posts, you're probably okay.
