Just read an interesting tidbit over at Jim Butcher's website. Seems as though he has agreed to have the Dresden Files turned into graphic novels. It sounds like he has much more control over the product than with the tv show. Plus they are going to follow the book storylines.. Groovy.

The Dresden Files are excellent reads, espescially to those who enjoy the HP series. It can best be described as a crime noir with a fantasy aspect to it. The magic system is very well thought out and the books are very easy to read. Butcher definately created i very dense world for his characters to live in.

Darn its awesome that there doing it, but I don't know if I'll actually read it seeing as I know already what will happen after reading the books.
I'll prob skim it at the bookstore just to see how the artists drew the characters.

Yeah, I'll be obsessively reading these.

Graphic novels are great, in that you can get the plot with out the thinking.

Unfortunately, IMHO, the characters will suck, because I have a clear mental picture of what Harry Dresden and Susan and Murphy and so on look like, and this will probably be very different.

I prefer original stories, that only come out in GN form, like Ranma or Case Closed, or only in book form. They're much better.

I'm quite excited and pleased about the fact that Jim has total creative control and final say in this. Having that much control over his own characters will make sure that the stories are told in the proper way.
