Also Isana's comment on Octavian always coming back to finish what he started? The Fort flying his colours.. Amazon might be right :p

Little bit about Alera (the fury) was pretty interesting too

Eh... usually I like Kitai. This, however, annoyed the hell out of me.

Also, Its been awhile since Ive read the last one but what exactly did Gaius do at the battle of Ceres that would have required the help of Alera? I mean all the Lords did the lightning thing, I dont recall Gaius doing anything really special.

Now at Alera Imperia, I can understand completely.

I don't know if it was at Ceres or Imperia, but Gaius asked Alera to make it rain hail, which weighed down the wings of the vord so they couldn't fly. She justified doing this by saying that the hail affected both sides, so it did not go against their agreement, whatever that may be.

Eh, it made me laugh actually. I usually like Kitai too, and this might have been a bit over the top, but so long as we don't see this kind of thing repeated too often I can find it amusing.

I suppose I didn't really care much for that scene either, but her reaction does make some sense. I think if you're told by a whore that you're being treated like a whore, then that may strike a nerve.

So, he's finally learning to do external fury crafting... I didn't read the last book since the canim thing didn't really interest me. But, did Butcher have him externally furycraft while fighting the Vord there? There seems to be a lack of explanation as to how or why he's finally able to do it.

On that note, I can't remember reading anything on Max and the other's reaction to Octavian finally being able to summon Furies. Is that somewhere in the Books?

Nope he just randomly developed the ability to fury craft externally.

Isn't it more like his Grandpa died, and he inherited his fury, allowing him to craft externally?

As far as I know he still can't really summon furies in the traditional sense -- i.e. nothing like Brutus or Cirrus or the water lions. The fury 'Alera' seems to be somewhat of a special case. Tavi was doing internal crafting a while back, and the first I've really seen of external crafting was in the prologue where he was trying to learn to fly (unless I forget something). Alera appeared to him and he doesn't control her so much as his house has some sort of collaboration scheme worked out with her.

Just read the most recent sample chapters. I had forgotten that Masha was Brencis' daughter as well as Rook's. I think I knew it at one point but I either wasn't sure or I forgot. Cute kid.

It took me a minute too. Those long opening parts kinda spoiled me. These short chapters are annoying but that might also have something to do with the characters in the newest chapter.

I'm pretty sure he decided not to tell any one other then Kitai, who knows anyways.

    Edit: His Aunt knows.

His Aunt only knows that he can internally craft, not summon furies.

Also no one has reacted to him being able to summon furies, because until now he hasn't be able to do so.

She's his mother not his Aunt. I don't think she knows he can craft externally, only internally. Kitai and Alera, if you count her as a person, are the only ones that I think know.

This latest chapter, like all those not Tavi-centred, bored me slightly.

I wouldnt be suprised if Marcus and Magnus know or atleast suspect. If he screwed up even slightly around them, both of them would probably realize it.

I really liked the chapter this week! Intrigue and action ftw.

A lot of the non-Tavi centered chapters can bore me too Taure, especially the ones with a focus on Bernard and Amara, but I find Fidelias interesting as hell. Same goes for Araris, Max, and a couple of others.

And Ragon -- I think they know or at least suspect too. If Araris could figure it out without having had any type of cursor training then I'm sure they would at least notice something.
