Ad Hominem, then. Oh, and a strawman. Since I absolutely never claimed to be able to do a better job. Well debated. Congradulations.

Not being good at something does not equal not being able to judge something. A person that can't cook for shit can still tell when a dish is bad, and boy was this dish bad.

TSM's draft was straight out dodgy. The Kalista ban is understandable, because the havoc she wreaks on objectives is absurd. Tristana is also fine, because she suits CLG's rotate heavy objective taking game so well, the big gaping hole was their inability to deal with Yasuo. Strange, because in the regular split they banned it, so it's not like they were unaware it would be played, especially with the gameplay Yasuo got in Asia, and the fact that he styles on Gnar, one of the 3 (Olaf, Maokai - banned away, Gnar) champs that Dyrus plays to standard.

Yasuo is easy to deal with if you have a mechanically strong top laner with a team confident enough in his play to allocate the resources of say, an Irelia or a Riven. TSM fulfils none of the above, so they needed to take him away.

They mindbogglingly decided to give Yasuo to Bjergsen instead of banning him away. It was very noticeable that it was a very spur-of-the-moment decision, in how he consistently fell behind in cs, lacked pressure in lane, and was seen copying the Zionspartan splitpush (without TP!) while CLG rushed baron.

TSM has also forgotten that the Diana pick still exists, that pretty much solely exists to scrap with and takedown control mages like Viktor(!) that Pobelter prioritized heavily all 3 games.

As a TL fan with a TSM dislike this result is rather bittersweet for me. TSM losing is always a wonderful occasion, but I would have liked if TL qualified for worlds straight away instead of having to go through that horrid gauntlet. I'm also upset that TL were unable to pick apart the gaping holes that CLG exposed. I still feel that CLG would have been a better matchup for TL, oh, if only they threw that tiebreak vs CLG in the regular split.

tl;dr TSM should have picked Viktor and banned Yasuo, or they should acquire a top lane good enough to deal with pocket picks that they knew of from both watching Zionspartan's match history in advance.

I would have been completely fine with TSM losing 3-2 since we were already in worlds .. but not like this.

So, it turns out that Riot Penguin also makes fanart on the side, and his blog has some pretty amazing fan skin ideas. Give it a look. Some pretty funny and/or cool ones in there.

How's everyone's new ping? I live in Boston so I'm expecting it to be a lot lower than before but I'm also on vacation in FL so I don't actually know.

Averaging 36, down from 88 and occasionally low 100s. I've noticed I'm cancelling auto attacks a lot more often. Played some bot games to try out stuff like Lee Sin wardhops and Yasuo dashes, not a major difference there.

In other news, I still miss the previous split's SK. What the fuck happened.

Ping change: Was around 60-80 ping, with occasional spike to 100 or so.

Now: Fluctuates randomly between 80ish and over 300.

    Fan-fucking-tastic.

Was lag spiking 500-900 the first two games I played. Generally sat somewhere around 160 so.

Used to be at around 80.

After a couple games it cleared down to 70-ish.

Riot says it's based on congestion in the routes your connection takes. Not their servers.

After checking the netlogs a few people were posting, it turns out they were right.

So basically, bugs in the new system they have to clear out.
