Seems that Butcher read the first four chapters of GS in some dinner event. The admin(or whatever) of Butchers official forums is going to try and post them online to promote Side Jobs. So we may learn something interesting a lot sooner than anticipated.

It would seem that the release date for Ghost Story was postponed till late July.
At MarsCon Butcher said that he wouldn't be able to finish the book by march without doing it half-assed.

On one hand, I want the Ghost Story to be at least as good as the previous books. On the other... damn it's 15-16 weeks of waiting more.

If you don't have the time to see all 8 parts of it, here are the most important things:

We will get more info about the connection between Harry and the island of Demonreach in the last chapter of Ghost Story
Book 14 is going to be called Winter Knight

The Archive does get everything that is recorded digitally.
We will get more story on an older Ivy. (Jim chuckled significantly upon answering this)
We won't find out what Maggie had on Lea to get her to agree to be Harry's godmother until near the end of the series or into the Bad Ass Trilogy
The movie rights have reverted back to Jim early.
It's possible that Harry didn't rescue all of Mouse's brothers and sisters.
Fidelacchius will be distributed in book 14 or 15
Amorrachius won't be back into circulation until the end of the series or maybe not even until the BAT.

Late July? I can live with that. Good thing it isn't late June when I will be finishing my Master's degree.

So, Harry/Ivy will happen?

Murphy? Or will we be surprised by someone unexpected?

My theory that it will be Harry Carpenter who will get this sword is more and more possible, if we are going to wait so long.

 

Considering that he'd going to be probably meeting a lot of new people for the next couple of books (although most will be of dubious moral character), I'm hoping that the sword goes to somebody new.

Harry/Ivy is just way too pedo, dude. Not that the pairing hasn't come to mind, but the manner in which he's saved and comforted her, not to mention the whole naming things, it would be too disturbing. And not even in a good, oh look we're breaking taboos, sort of way.

Perhaps we'll see some kind of a twisted/fallen version of a Foo Dog's descendants (nature vs nurture kind of thing). That, or Harry will meet some kid with an enormous dog ("I found him and my parents said I could keep him" kind of thing). Knowing Dresden's luck, if there are any roaming spirit dogs in Chicago, they will not be friendly.
