EDIT: Google is my friend. They're releasing them sequentially with the last two in the next month.

The third, fourth and fifth - particularly the fourth - do seem to give a bit more away in terms of what will happen in the book. I hope the sixth isn't Dumbledore tumbling from the tower.

I'd love the HBP cover to be Harry standing over Malfoy who is drowning on his own blood (Sectumsempra chapter) and DH with the Sky Battle between Harry and Voldemort.

 

Are the releasing them to coincide with new chapters opening on Pottermore or something? I'm not really in the loop with that site anymore.

 

I like these better than the original (American) covers.

 

15th year anniversary

 

They're quite cool, but not enough for me to invest in new copies solely to get them. Goblet of Fire is the best one though.

 

Much better than those UK covers we got with the white backgrounds.

 

Hmm. Old ones used to be kinda horrible, if memory serves. The covers of the Swedish translation were pretty good. At least the one to the fourth book, that's the last I got in Swedish and the only one I can remember.

Anyways. New chapters?

 

I'm a big fan of the PS one. There's something very nostalgic about it. Remember when Diagon Alley was cool, back before we were tired of reading endless shopping trips in bad fanfic?

Same with Hedwig.

The others are okay, but nothing particularly striking. Prefer the original UK covers.

 

Actually this might make me buy them again. Unfortunately the books I have now weren't taken care of properly, having been passed around my family for years.

 

I actually really like the second one as well, for its depiction of the Burrow.

 

Except the Third I really liked all of them. The Fifth and First one are great. The Brazilian one were really ugly, Harry always seemed deformed.

 

It certainly throws away the "If they are so poor they should use magic to improve their life" concept.

 

I'd love an another book but Rowling probably won't write another one.

 

I particularly dislike the third and fourth covers, as they give away huge plot points (well not SO huge in the third one).

I like 'em. They're way better than the shitty American covers, and I think I'll pick them up since my copies are in such a sorry state they're embarrassing.

They're not as good as the e-book Wheel of Time covers just coming to print, but they're nice.

 

They're original and cool but people who have expressed love for the fourth cover? Maybe I'm blinded by nostalgia but I think that Horntail looks derpy compared to the original.

It also reminds me of my dislike of the GoF scene where I thought the dragon challenge was far broader and less enclosed than the movie which this seems to be inspired from.

The ones I had growing up were the best in my eyes. (The PoA, GoF and OoTP were all badass as fuck.)
