1. Hey Guest, welcome back to DLP

As you can see, we've changed our look. We've migrated from vBulletin to the Xenforo forum system. There may be issues or missing functionality, if you find anything or have feedback, please check out the new Xenforo Migration Feedback forum.

Our dark ("Dark Lord Potter") theme is under heavy development. We also have a light ("Light Lord Potter") theme for those happier with a light background and darker text.

Just in case anyone's been wanting to try Guild Wars 2 out and haven't been sure if it's worth it or not, they officially announced the first expansion for it today.

And this weekend only they're running a sale on the game for 75% off on their site.

Basic version of the game is just 10$, the Digital Deluxe with all the goodies is only 15$~! (US $ of course)

It's an amazing time to get into the game if you've had some doubts about it.

Looks to be shaping up well. Might be just the push I need to get back into it.

I got the game at 50% off, I feel cheated.

Tho the game gets a little repetitive after a while, and that the exploration of maps do not carry from character to character really annoys me.

I've been considering getting back into it. Updated a few days ago, and have been logging in, while I waited for some other friends to also update.

Got bored within two weeks of release. Combat felt shallow and I hated the platforming elements. Performance also wasn't great though that's most likely improved. Do not recommend.

I actually picked it back up a few months ago, although I haven't had a chance to reinstall after my computer reset. I'm not sure if it's because I went a different class, or because they've changed it, but I really enjoyed the game a lot more than when it was first released.

Even if I'm playing less recently(Seriously, crafting my second legendary really pushed me off the game for a couple months) GW2 is still the best mmo I ever played. The lack of subscription fee mean I can get back to it anytime, my gear is still relevant to the current content and all my alts still look awesome. Yea, the grind in this game is purely cosmetical and the pve side of it gets boring after some time but you can hardly expect a game to keep you interested for 2 years straight.

The expansion is bringing some nice stuff in: A new class, a way to keep upgrading(masteries) your character after you hit 80, specializations and more weapon types to each class. A.net really took notice of all the complaints and sugestions from the player base and tried to implement the necessary changes during their updates

    And bought!!

I loved GW1 but I had to stop playing thanks to shitty satellite internet. When I finally got better internet this past year I could not play GW1 because I forgot the email & password that I used several years ago and I wasn't about to buy another copy for $20.

Well, as a reminder... Guild Wars 2 Thread, although it hasn't been used much in a long time, due to many of the people going separate ways.

If you want an invitation to the DLP guild for the heck of it, just post your ID(including number), and I'll add you fairly promptly.

I'll likely be getting active again, perhaps even with a fresh character(although maybe not that...). Slightly waiting on a couple of other friends to get their stuff together. One of them had to send a support ticket, due to forgetting their password, but also not being able to find their original discs for the serial code. Thankfully, we had our guild website, so he was able to at least get a character name off his account.

Im thinking about getting into this again. There should be a lot of new players with the cheap sale recently + expansion coming out.

Does it still cap the amount of bleeding effects allowed on a target? Making my mesmer bleed build useless in world bosses?

Just spent the last 3-4 hours on a single jumping puzzle, and not as a Mesmer. Made some (nominal) friends, and the sense of accomplishment was kind of nice. Didn't manage to reach the Diving Platform after a few tries, though... Going to have to come back later with my Mesmer and see if I can pull it off.

This was the Aetherblade jumping puzzle area, for those that recall it.

    -----

Anyway, I've been playing again the last few weeks, along with Dullahan and a few others that are getting back into it. For anyone else interested, hit us up.

I've not played since we played during the release, is it a good time to come back? How much do you play?

    NA for me, Meerkats.

As for how much we play, it really varies on intent and availability. Could be 1 hour, could be 4-5. If we're having fun doing stuff, then inevitably we play longer.
