I've read fanfiction for about three years now. Primarily through fanfiction.net. I have been aware of this sight for some time, but lurked for a while before creating an account.

When I first started reading fanfiction it was not difficult to find a story that I liked. However, over time several things have happened. I've taken some fiction writing classes, read most of the worthwhile fics, and become more discerning in my tastes.

I don't currently have a fanfiction account. Instead I keep a database of the stories that I have read and liked. I enjoy stories with a unique twist to them. The cannon version of Harry makes me angry. He comes across as an incredibly lucky incompetent fool.

As a writer I do primarily original work that I do not post online. i might venture into HPFF in the future. It depends if I can come up with something that isn't cliche or total shit.

Maybe I just enjoy being pissy, but a great many things annoy me. Examples include: a hack Morman from Utah who thinks she can write and totally wrecks the Gothic novel archetype; slasher fanfiction; Glen Beck; Snape/Harry fanfiction; overuse of emoticons; IM speak; and much much more.

I joined this site in the hope of finding something worth reading. I'm tired of digging through piles of fecal matter for the increasingly rare story worth reading. Cheers.

my ancestors stole pigs and horses, not land. Filters can provide endless entertainment if they are done correctly.

Unless you've been alive since 1774 I doubt it - seeing as they have been in Canada since then.

Edit: your signature reference is to one of my favorite books so +1
