    I havent read FFnet rules in a while, but does it say that authors arent allowed to only post AN's as chapters in their stories?

    IIRC, Anne Whynn author of In the Shadows of Gods a ME/Halo ff got her story taken down because she put some kind of notification as an update.

    The first time I dont read the last few posts on the thread for a story and I get to chapter 25 for a shitfest.

    What a waste of a Sunday this story has been.

    No, but it leaves a really bad taste in your mouth after you're done, and that taste is what you remember.

    My problem is more that the last few chapters you could sense the stirrings of some actual conflict only for it to just end like it did. Feels like the author had zero idea of what to do after this point and just decided to drop it there.

    Reminds me of what Ryugi and Water Mage used to do where they started an awesome story just to drop it when it got to the awesome part because they hadn't planned past it.

    Nah, I think Ryuugi's problem was more that he had specific scenes in the story he was really excited to write, and once he'd passed them he found it hard to get motivated to continue.

    I can understand that, we can't expect the writers of the fanfics we like to all have the a complete plot thought out since so many are just plot bunny stories.

    However, I'd have rather a chapter update that said that then what we ended up getting. That or abandonment.

    I agree. It wasn't the greatest part of the story but I certainly wouldn't call it bad.

    Looks like the author removed it due to "Hit The Ground Running really attracted the parts of HP fandom that I’d prefer not to encourage.". A real shame, I quite liked it.

    Loved the story, the ending was so different and unexpected. Harry getting AKd by Dumbledore of all people was so unexpected. Just wish the sequel had gotten the effort that it deserves. Oh well. 5/5
