[Moved from TOMD 4. How crappy is your internet? :D]

Got fibre. If you can say one thing about NZ, say that they have their internet infrastructure game on point these days.

It's a shame you can't say that for good ol' US of A.

Man, I wish Australia had America's internet. Going home is going to be painful.

Do you live in the city in Australia of a small town?

I get better ping in Dota in Dunedin, New Zealand, than I did in the middle of Melbourne to the Australian servers.

My home, which is in a very rural area, gets speeds twice as fast as anything I ever got in Melbourne, and that's only 20mbps, not the 900 I get on fibre. I could get up to 80 there, on VDSL, but don't need it, and cbf getting a different modem for it.

I lived in a regional capital. It's the second largest population centre in the state. Some places I lived (still in the city limits) didn't even have a landline.

I see. I would have thought that living in that kind of area you'd have access to decent internet. I live at the edge of a small town less than 1500 people and we're only just getting fiber. Our phone companies are reluctant to bring out fiber even when we offer to pay them to come out.

Lol. "Only just getting fibre." Man if you live in an Australian town with <1500 people you'll count yourself lucky to have broadband.

Just to rub salt in the wound, our right-wing government just announced an extra $400 million in funding to expand fibre coverage to 85% of the nation. The NBN in Aus is such a clusterfuck, jesus.

Since we're talking about internet speed, I am unsure if my result is considered average or below average. I guess for Poland it is decent. And I never complained before, so I dunno.

15mbps download is alright if your not downloading lots of things. However compare that to 294kbps for fiber speeds.

Yeah, I'm definitely not complaining. Even when I download movies it doesn't take that long.

Yup, 80$ a month for these speeds. Gotta love when a single internet company has a monopoly on the only fiber line able to service your entire region.

Well, I beat Imariel in Download, but lose handily in Upload and Ping.

Of course, it's also about 1:30am here, so that would skew things perhaps.

Paying ~$75/mo, although that's mostly because of a deal I got when I asked what their plans were to compete with Google Fiber coming to town, and they offered to double my speed(120 range to 250 range), give new equipment and lower my bill by 25-ish or more dollars(initial promotional offer had recently ran out). For two years, and without a new contract agreement, if I wanted to leave at some point after.
