This is fucking retarded. As the title says, introductions are not mandatory. So if a wannabe mod tells you to post an intro, tell him to go fuck himself.

Intros are preferred, though. It is entirely up to you if you want to make one or not. If you do, read my other sticky in this forum to make sure you do it right. It certainly doesn't have to be as long as that, but general information about yourself and your fanfiction likes/dislikes will be appreciated.

I was wondering when this was coming.

The endless "make an intro nao!" comments were getting on my nerves...

    /me blinks at Sree's avatar.

    ...

    Wha'?

Edit: Good clarification is good. Like many others, I was getting tired of the new "rule" that you had to post an intro. Yay for curbstomp.

It may not be mandatory, but I do like that it lets us know who can actually be a valuable member and who can't.

Uhh, we'd figure that out soon enough, as soon as they start to post.

You can tell that just as well from a person's posts around the board. Better, even.

True, I just like knowing ahead of time whether I want to avoid a certain thread or not.

Hmm...intros aren't quite accurate though. Just this week we had a perfectly good intro by someone who then went off and made a thread about what a good idea a songfic would be.

Huh, I must have missed that one. However, this 'Watersoft129' kid really pissed me off by starting a thread in which he pulled a Bush and waffled on the issue. I wish he had posted an intro so I could have known to avoid him. Oh, but he did provide lulz via failure in some other dudes intro.

"Pulled a Bush"? I take it that you're refering to the "I Love Jesus" thread.

No, the werewolf one where he posted it so he could have us prove him wrong. I would link you, but I'm too lazy. Check out page 3 of the Intro started by Poytin, lulz at his epic fail post.
