Minecraft is an indie game where you are placed in a literally infinite world, and given no stated objective except to have fun.

For example, one person went and made a colossal water slide, while another went and made a massive globe, and another person made the USS Enterprise.

Currently it's in the alpha stages of development, but new features, such as dedicated multiplayer support, are being added every week as the developer gets closer to a stable beta, which should be released sometime in September. It also only costs around $13-he's selling it for ten euros, so conversion rates and all that-if you buy it while it's in alpha, which you should cause this game is worth it.

While watching the globe and waterslide ones I actually felt kinda awed at how beautiful they could make the game look with such basic graphics.

Seems like a really shitty version of Garry's Mod, which only costs like $20 with TF2.

    Relevant.

Not that great of a video, but it shows that you're only limited by your imagination. People have made friggin' calculators from scratch in this game.

Yeah, I imagine the system is similar in both games. You're limited by your own imagination.

But GMod doesn't look like I'm playing Duke Nukem made out lego. lol

I've been watching some playthrough videos on this, and I'm hooked. As soon as I get paid I'm buying this game.

I just got it recently. Not done much with it, since its pretty much easier to fucking break into Fort Knox than to connect to the fucking server of the fag that made it. >_>

I've got a server set up for Jon, Zombie, Virail and others for those who want...

You'll be pleased to note, I'm sure, that I have finally got one of those none-standard servers with the advanced physics and multiple worlds installed and running. Even has a built in IRC bot.

Now if only the Minecraft Server was up. :/

Minecraft is awesome, I have yet to play it multiplayer though, does it make the game a lot better?

Digging massive caves is awesome, the reward of 3 diamond at the end is always worth it too ^_-

How do you guys kill the creepers? I need gunpowder to get TNT, so I can mine faster, but the bastards 'splode on me whenever I get close.

Gotta get a sword and cut 'em down before they do. It's a keep-away game, if they get too close you'll activate their "fuse." As a side note, do not stand next to the walls of your house. If a creeper is on the other side of that wall, he will explode.

I've just been working on the Penny Arcade server. Here's what's been done in three or so weeks: http://www.fusedcreations.com/adam/mc_colapture002.png.

    Huge image, beware.

Creeper fuse distance is one block from your character (once I figured this out I started building my walls two deep) so a bow is a much better choice for taking them out.

Can't seem to get on, whenever I try it just hangs at "logging in". Do users need to be authorized?

Also-Thanks for the creeper advice, I have a ton of gold swords, but whenever I tried slicing and dicing, they'd just go bewm. Now I know :p.

I decided to have it a go. Put into a random level. I think, hey's let dig underground. Next thing I know I'm making a labyrinth, full of trees, sand, dead ends, etc. It is really fun.

    What is logging in?
