I got a new monitor yesterday, a HP LP2465. Not as good as an O'Neil class battleship, but it will have to do for now. It feels quite big right now, but it awesome when having multiple windows opened.

My friend, nothing is as good as an O'Neill class Battleship :)

Nice Zev, how tall is it? One thing I've never been able to stand about widescreens is they scrunch the height a bit =)

    How much as well, 300-400$?

    God damn!

I know a friend of mine who got a similar new toy which inflated his ego ten fold.
He had to look up at it from his chair because it was so large.

Btw, do larger LCD screens run the risk of greater dead pixels? And I do guess it's responce time would be around 15ms or greater?

Hmm, that looks kind of like the screen my friend has.

With his he can have half the screen functioning as a computer screen and watch TV or play a Console on the other.

Same size as that I think.

    That's pretty nice.

I only wish I could get my hands on one of those 30" Apple Cinema Displays though.

I had a 19" widescreen before. I sold it so I had to pay around 590$ depending on the exchange rate.

The height is around a regular 20" screen.

My head is big enough as it is. The pedestal is quite flexible so you can move it up and down... So I have no problem with it being to large. It was only the first hours it felt a little too big.

Response time. Gray to Gray in 6 ms.

Would be nice, but I think 24” is nearly the maximum size if you want to use the whole thing.

    A general question concerning wide-screens:
Are there problems with graphic adapters? Do all actual cards support the format or do I need to look for a card which is explicitely able to handle widescreen?
