Agreed with eXcalite. BAP does it on an entirely voluntary basis and isn't in any way obligated to. That doesn't mean someone else can't chip in and help though.

Renegade Cause, Wastelands of Time, Denarian Lord? There's three off the top of my head.

I dont care who does it or why He/She might do it, just that it is worth doing, nor do I ask it to be done for my sake, the last one was widely appreciated by one and all. And frankly I wouldnt know the first thing of how to do it by myself. nor do I have an internet connection that is fast enough or an online storage space of any kind.

next I'm not sure whether I'm a Lurker or not, it is true I had stopped reading or posting soon after the inglorius slugfest era began, but it seems to have ended now and so I began to post again. If you have objections feel free to kick me out and close the doors on all new memberships while you're at it. Anyhow it seems that the days of Harry Potter Fanfiction are numbered, people seem to be loosing interest. Hardly any new stories, and most not worth reading. check the newly reccomended fics on this site and you'll know.

I would disagree with you on that. Maybe the amount of fics written has lowered but the quality of fan-fiction has improved by leaps and bounds. And I for one would rather read one good quality fic than an average one. However, if you are happy with slightly lower quality fics you can just check at fanfiction.net, lots of new ones are uploaded every day. As for recommendations, they are less than they were before because DLP has increased its standards.

As for good new fanfics, there is Silens' Renegade Cause, NMB's The Skitterleap and By The Diving Light, VON's Sitra Ahra, kmfrank's Escape By Darkness, Vlad's A Tale Of Two Empire. All of them are of great quality and are definitely worth reading.

Hey thanks for this archive, there's a lot of good fics here that are not available elsewhere. But my only problem is sometimes I don't want to download the whole damn thing and just want one story so is there a way that all the stories are uploaded somewhere seperately? Meh, just a suggestion... oh download is done kthxbye.

THats what FFN is for. If you can't find it on there, download the archive. And yes, you can only download hte whole thing.

If you're just looking for some deleted fic or other, HPRecycle Bin will do the trick.

This archive, however, is a far superior way of storing fics locally for off-line reading.

Yep, the library is awesome for when you have no internet. The only bad part is that there are no summary's so you have to wing it (Not whining, just stating fact :p).

Anyway, Bornagainpenguin should receive a fucking medal for this. It's awesome to be able to read stories that you thought were lost forever.

Congratulations, you've just solved your own problem. Unless you insist upon downloading the archive anew for each story you want to find, in which case you have greater problems than simple fanfiction.

    Also, This.

I'd be up for updating this archive, is there a bot already made to do this? I don't especially want to go to the effort of writing one only to find that there's already one made.

I'll look into making an index with title/author/rating/genre + links to the story in question at the same time.

I find that the library has some really enjoyable stories.
And a couple of weeks ago my internet was down for one reason or another and I just went to my library and found an enjoyable fic to read.
kudo's to Bornagainpenguin for making this thanks man.

Is there still anyone willing to work on an updated archive? There's a program to help with downloading from FFNET

    http://fanfictiondownloader.net/

I'm willing to work on this, although it might take a while since I'm busy with work at the moment. Although if someone's willing to make a post showing all the story links in the library, it make it easier

    http://forums.darklordpotter.net/library_list.php?norecycle=1 (doesn't include Recycling Bin)

FFN links on the right. It would probably be easier to script this, though. Manually doing several hundred of these is a recipe for rage and destruction. I'll hack something up in a few days when I have time (assuming no one else does it by then, of course).

Might be a good idea to ask Raven before you go doing something silly like that...He might already have a plain text version of this (or could easily make one), that just has the links (to FF.N or PC - not the DLP Library forum). Easier to scrape, and less costly on bandwidth I'd think. Win win?

Okay, I spent 10 minutes in python and scraped all of the FFNet links. There are over a hundred Library fics without an FF.Net URL (not including Recycling Bin fics), though, and I'm sure that a few of the scraped ones probably don't work due to story deletion.

    Links are to pastebins.

    Library URLs
    Recycling Bin URLs

Hi, i know its been a while, i had to wait for an updated version of the downloader since it only allowed one fic to be downloaded at a time.

So anyway, i finished downloading the library links, and planning to download the recycle bin links this weekend. After that, i'll organize the stories by category and try to find missing stories in either the old archive or look on the net.

I was also thinking about putting some of the work by authors and the entries for the various DLP monthy contests in this archive. Would it be ok with the people who posted these stories? Should i also put in the recommendations for the other fandoms?

Hopefully, if real life doesnt get in the way, i can post a new version this month or next month, depending on how much is still left to do
