It'd be nice to have a movie detailing Maul up until he gets stuck in the hole underneath the Sith temple.

Do we know exactly for how long he was there?

An elegant way to solve this would be to have him/Crimson Dawn defeated before having him stumble across information on the temple/formulate a plan to get there at the very end. This would allow some leeway with the timeline.

Never thought I'd say this once the plans for the new movies were drawn up, I'm enjoying the spin-offs so much more than the main trilogy. The stakes are believeable and it doesn't feel like I've seen it all before 30 years ago.

The thing about the main trilogy is that the movies were only exciting because of how sparsely they were made. Since they're now basically releasing trilogy after trilogy for the rest of eternity, the novelty's kind of worn off, so the spin-offs are more exciting, because they introduce something new.

It's probably more that they can tell a tight story with a beginning, a middle and an end. Something that Rian Johnson decided to throw away when he was given full creative freedom on episode 8. There's so much wrong with episode 8 that I don't want to go into it, but now they're doubling down on their mistakes. Which doesn't give me hope. Why is there fuel in star wars...!? They are breaking canon and they don't even care. And what is up with Lando having a possibly sexual relationship with a feminist robot? Did anyone find her/it funny? Right now Jar Jar isn't looking so bad. I'm done. I'm not going to see the future Star Wars films till I know they're good and aren't blatantly pushing an SJW agenda. Disney can rot. They fucked up the games and but worse yet, they've fucked up the movies. Why don't these supposed long time fans of Star Wars respect the source material?

Alright, I gotta stop this bitching. We all know what garbage Disney has turned this franchise into.

Disney cares more about maximising profit than actually putting out quality movies. This quality is more important when making an animated film, because they aren't connected to anything and need to be better to sell. Star Wars, however, already has generations of fans, so quantity in this matter is more important than quality, since they already know that people are going to watch them no matter what.

I sincerely hope magical cores don't become a thing in Star Wars.

Jesus, every reaction today is so hyperbolic. If you don't like something, it's garbage etc.

I'm not a fan of seven and eight, but they were okay. Then, as I've already said, the spin-offs I genuinely think are incredible. How's that Disney turning SW into 'garbage'?

I thought Solo was really good. I was amazed when I looked at the time and over 2 hours had gone by when I left the theater. Rougue One was a good film. And I enjoyed Force Awakens. LJ had problems, but it was ultimately a decent movie. They definitely should have kept Finn in a coma over what they gave us. Po was misused. Rey was alright. But it was Kylo that really stole the show. I really enjoyed his character in the movie.

A lot of the problems in the movie disappear if they just didn't screw up Luke. I was ok with him and Kylo, but I just didn't understand why kill him? You already know Carrie Fisher is dead which rules her out for 9, so why do you kill Luke at the end. It takes really nothing but a quick edit to keep him alive. Just don't have him fade after he has his duel with Kylo. Its not hard. His death left me (and I assume) many other fans a little down walking out of the theater. Which led to complaining. Which led to hatred building for Kathleen Kennedy. Which led to a piss poor showing of Solo... and thats after Kathleen stuck her nose all into Solo which resulted in reshoots that made the movie one of the priciest ever made. The sad thing is that Solo was a good movie and Alden Ehrenreich did a great job as Han.

Oh and do lightsabers need to be recharged do they? The tech they have in Star Wars is generally far beyond anything we have here. The whole them running out of fuel was a completely contrived plot hole. When have we ever had mention of refuelling ships up to this point in seven iterations. Hey I could be wrong, please point me to the relevant material.

How is the weaponisation of hyperspace not world breaking? Do you actually believe that no one had ever thought to use hyperspace as a weapon in a universe as vast as Star Wars? Every single time an invention comes about the military tries to weaponise it. Why didn't they do that against the Dreadnought earlier? It changes how space battles should go moving forward. Why was Poe given so much shit since his destruction of the Dreadnought when it is the only thing that saved them once they emerged from hyperspace? Why do the short range turrets not work at short range and the long range ones not work long range?

Why did we see Rose mourning the loss of her sister? A character that we'd never seen before mourning a character we've seen once. We never saw Luke's reaction to Han's death. How is any of this acceptable? Granted the spectacle was amazing, sure. But pour 400 million dollars into anything with good actors and the performances and CGI is going to look great. You might be in denial about how bad The Last Jedi is for the universe going forward but I'm not.

The Last Jedi was shit, but the fuel thing is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. It hasn't been mentioned before because it was never relevant to the plot, just like they don't mention fuel in any other movie until it's plot-relevant to run out of gas.

Lightsabers still require batteries, they're just not massive packs anymore. The point is that the tech is meant to be so advanced that it's a negligible side note, Jedi don't need to recharge their sabers every night. The Resistance needing fuel so soon after leaving their home base is an issue. I could accept fuel being a thing, but when it's not even mentioned in passing in the main instalments it should not be considered a precious resource. We've seen one full scale war, it should've come up. The whole scenario is ridiculous. The Resistance no longer having any fighters left but the First Order pulls back theirs for no reason because they can't cover them... pfft.

I mean, they just lost their superweapon, they're probably hurting on the resource side of things.

Is there an explanation out there for why the hyperspaceshotgun isn't broken as fuck though? Planetary shields maybe?

... I'm pretty sure there was no sexual relationship there. It seemed to me like they were playing it for laughs that the robot thought Lando was in love with her romantically. Just seemed like really close friends to me.

Yeah, things like fuel, ammo, and power have pretty much always been assumed background elements in Star Wars, even if they weren't mentioned in the past. Complaining about them coming up now is about like if there was a scene of Kylo coming out of the bathroom, and we got long rants about how this broke canon because Star Wars humans were never shown using the toilet before, so obviously none of them actually pooped and instead used some sort of advanced super sci-fi means of getting rid of bodily waste.

Like Red Aviary said, resources being limited usually only comes up if that limitation is relevant. It's just like how movies set in modern day almost never show a car's fuel gauge unless it's in danger of running empty.

On the list of things wrong with TLJ, fuel would be so far down that it barely registers. It's easy enough to handwave an explanation for them not being able to top off the tank in the middle of a frantic and chaotic evacuation.

While I haven't seen Solo yet, I can totally buy Lando banging a robot if he thinks it's hot enough. He always struck me as the kind of guy who'd put his dick anything reasonably attractive with holes in the right places.

If you take every single SW movie and look at it with even a modicum of scrutiny, you could tear it apart on its canon inconsistencies, plot holes, irrelevant characters, bad dialog, etc. At some point you have to either stop watching them or shrug your shoulders.

I don't, by any means, like what they did with the new trilogy in a lot of ways, some mentioned above, but I still enjoy watching the movies.

Uhh... Yes, actually. There's a power cell in the hilt. This has been canon for pretty much ever, in the old technical books with diagrams and cutaways, etc.

It stands to reason that if you have a power cell, sooner or later you have to recharge or replace it.

Legends: Diatium power cell (most used)
: The Force Crystal itself in some stories (rarely)

Canon as of Rebels: (generic) Power Cell for lightsabers
: Implied, but not specifically said, in Rogue One literature as what powers the Death Star Laser

Starship fuel: Hypermatter, Peragian, and Anthracite are all canon from Clone War animated.
