TOMD: Out of the blue a friend asked me to partner with him on a real estate deal. Did not immediately reject it. Probably should have.

You gave him hope Gio. You gave him hope. You can no longer be friends. Quickly fake your death and move to another state.

TOMD: A new pair of glasses, after retiring the old ones that I've spent the last five years accidentally sitting on, dropping of tables, etc. Slightly different scrip, too. It's amazing how well I can see again.

Make sure she's getting the proper rest/treatment and keeping an eye on the symptoms. Just read about a guy dying from the flu.

TomD: It's too cold to spend much time outside currently and I've been bored out of my mind with TV.

I don't use Netflix etc., cause internet bandwidth is crazy expensive here, so I'm currently on Amazon trying desperately to find something that will hopefully keep me from just hibernating until it's warmer.

Anyone have any interesting ideas for stuff you can do inside the house? (That doesn't count reading books, watching TV. I can only read so many books before the words start blurring.)

Not gonna lie, the only usage of the word 'Peloton' I'm aware of is in the Tour de France.

    I am nowhere near France.

A $4000 investment to start with will suffice.

Just found a rule in my study regulations that says I won't be able to finish my studies if I can't prove basic knowledge in two foreign languages besides English. I got seven years of French from school that I can get certified, but I've nothing for the second (third) foreign language.

I'm quite bummed out, and I don't really understand why I need to have knowledge in three foreign languages when I'm studying to become a teacher for German and English. What am I supposed to be when this is over, a quad-linguist? Albus Dumbledore?

How basic is basic? Is there a test, or is it based on a discussion with a teacher?

British Sign Language (BSL) could be pretty simple (maybe), depending on how much you need, especially if nobody else really understands - just learn the alphabet, and fingerspell your way to victory, just learn the 26 letters.

Don't do that to someone who actually uses BSL though, because it's actually quite rude. And Signed Exact English isn't actually BSL, because BSL is actually a different language, with different grammatical rules and sentence composition anyway.

American Sign Language (ASL) has different signs than BSL, and is primarily done using a single hand. I don't know anything about the grammar or sentence composition though.
