TomD: Tried to find some sort of hobby to keep myself entertained and off the computer today. Went around the entire city... couldn't find anything that really grabbed my attention.

I did almost end up purchasing a Vive for my computer though. Now that I'm home, I'm almost tempted to say hobbies are over-rated and just upgrade the computer so it can run VR at max.

I'm rereading Harry Potter and ideas for stories keep coming to me nonstop.

I also found out that my sister is being haunted by a bunch of daddy longlegs and she won't stop messaging me about how scared she is.

Like, just a bunch of them in her place, or literally haunted by the ghosts of dead spiders.
Because that second one sounds like a pretty good start for a horror movie.

    The first one, I hope.

I don't know how well haunted works when used like that but that's what she said. She's extremely scared of bugs/arachnids and always thinks they're out to get her.

TOMD: Spent Valentine's Day with my mistress (politics), and came home at 1130pm to a dinner that my wife cooked for us, in the fridge. Why she has not divorced me after five years of marriage, I have no idea.

@Teyrn - bouldering and yoga can be fun. Maybe an instrument? Or maybe long walks in the woods or casual cycling? Personally, I’ve joint and mobility issues and have been trying to stay consistent with my exercise (yoga like stuff).

In other news, I recently got accepted to one of my top choice schools. While not ideal, it’s a better bet than whatever safety option I was going to apply for. I also got invited for an interview with another school. Fingers crossed I don’t fuck it up.

Got really drunk at lunch and didn't go back to work.

    10/10 would highly recommend

Normally I'd be all for outdoors stuff, but it's winter. There is a lot of snow outside, and I hate snow. With a passion.

Once spring hits I'll be more active, for now I'm just trying to find stuff I can do in my living room/etc. Reading books can only be done for so long before everything looks like words. I've actually been debating getting into Warhammer or Warhammer40k or something, just to paint the miniatures. Would just need to figure out what to do with them after painting them, since I've no interest in the tabletop game itself.

Build an igloo, or a snow mansion/man cave, hook up some cable, and stick you some beers in the wall and watch curling. I imagine that's what Canadians do in their down time.

    Woke up to see this.

    Utterly ruinous if it stands.

2-1-1 on Board 4 at the USAT-North chess competition in Chicago.

Pretty pleased even though I should've won my last game, considering I haven't played competitively in a year or so.

I feel like maybe that time on the psych ward has twisted your sense of what depression is. The vast majority of people with "genuine" depression are not on a psych ward. The symptoms you describe are pretty much the stereotypical description of depression.

Also, since everyone else is apparently too busy giving Gio high-fives: not cool.

So a friend and I were planning on going to a concert for a while, but he got the week wrong and won’t be in the country at the time. Assuming no IRL friends get there first, would anyone be interested in a ticket to see Mild High Club and King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard in London on the 21st?

TOMD: Think I'm pretty much done with political campaigns in a paid capacity. Going to transition to official side after this cycle. Shorter hours, less stress, and it's a role better suited for my physical abilities at this point.
