    I've been looking for some good douchbag Harry fics for a while, since I've always liked my protagonists self-serving and cowardly.

    Anyone know a good one?

    Renegade Cause by @Silens Cursor? I think it's the only fic I ever stopped reading halfway through because Harry was too much of a douchebag.

    That said I went back and read it again later and finished it, and it was quite good and well written and some things I had problems with were explained.

    Still not a favorite of mine, but a great story (easily 4/5) that came immediately to mind.

    Probably many of the Dark!Harry and Indie!Harry have such a Harry in them, whether the author intended to or not.

    Magnificent Bastard, actually, before we heard about FF.net cracking down on stories with 'inappropriate' titles. My co-author and I would probably prefer to describe it as on indefinite hiatus, but yeah, basically abandoned.

    Holy crap, I had no idea that it was a work of a DLP author. It was suspiciously good for a FFN story and I did enjoy it quite a bit.

    Thanks for the suggestions. I've read Harry Potter: Hero of the Wizarding World?, and the Denarian Series, but Renegade Cause and Bungle in the Jungle are new to me.

    I'd throw in Knowledge Is Power in the "dickhead Harry" category.

    Unfinished and abandoned, though it is nearly 300,000 words. There's a ton that's bad about this fic, but I enjoyed it anyway. Harry's personality is basically a Gregory House analogue, so he fits the bill for what you're looking for.

    Check In the Mind of a Scientist. Harry is a mad scientists who uses his supposed friends as guinea pigs.
