1. Hey Guest, welcome back to DLP

As you can see, we've changed our look. We've migrated from vBulletin to the Xenforo forum system. There may be issues or missing functionality, if you find anything or have feedback, please check out the new Xenforo Migration Feedback forum.

Our dark ("Dark Lord Potter") theme is under heavy development. We also have a light ("Light Lord Potter") theme for those happier with a light background and darker text.

There might be a selection bias with a sample based around your associates though. Birds of the same feather flock together?

I found this site which gives some estimates for the USA: http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-...ti-results/how-frequent-is-my-type.htm?bhcp=1

3-5% for INTPs, covering a period from 1972-2002.

As for the matter of extroverts being more than introverts, the statistics on the site I linked point to the answer being "Even split", roughly favoring Introverts a little. Extroverts are expected to be 45-53%, while Introverts are 47-55%. While INTP types are supposedly rare, other MBTI personality types that are Introvert are relatively common (i.e. ISTJs at 11-14% and ISFJs 9-14%.)

    Edit:

As for my results, I consistently get INTP across MBTI tests run by different sites.

Architect -- that isn't overly surprising.

    Individual traits: Introverted – 81%, Intuitive – 61%, Thinking – 61%, Judging – 59%, Turbulent – 61%.
    Role: Analyst

Other times I've taken it, I've been INFJ-T. Depends on the day.

It's quite interesting - since I first took this test roughly four years ago, my personality has changed quite a bit.

I originally got INTP-A, way back when I was about 14, which then shifted to INTJ around two years later.

I've been taking it over the past week, and I seem to vary between ENTP-A and ISTP-A depending on the day. It's definitely a reflection of how I've become more comfortable with people and social situations, and a curbing of the 'medium-fish, tiny pond' arrogance that I had in spades when I was younger.

Results of the latest one are:

    Extraverted: 54%
    Intuitive: 54%
    Thinking: 81%
    Prospecting: 56%
    Assertive: 60%

The first, second and fourth qualities seem to vary between 45-55%, and the thinking quality is consistently high.

In case anyone is curious, I've attached the old MBTI results from 2012 (with sample size of over 200 DLPers). Skip to pages 3 and 4 for DLP-specific results. The rest of the slides are background.
