Hey everyone,

After a long period of development, I've finally scraped together PatronusCharm 1.1 Beta for release. There's a lot of neat new features in here I'm proud of, and probably a lot to break also. Be sure to let me know if you find any bugs. To see the new features, read my TechBlog post at http://blog.patronuscharm.net/2009/12/patronuscharm-11-beta-release-midnight-cst/

Hello everyone!

It's been a long time since PatronusCharm has been in development, mostly due to a lack of time on my part. As PatronusCharm is a solo operation, as is maintenance on Dark Lord Potter, they've mostly fallen by the wayside due to tough coursework, but there is light at the end of the tunnel as I've restarted active development on PatronusCharm 1.1 Beta. I'm not sure when to say to expect it, other than soon. There is still much to do, much to fix, and tons to test....
I've taken a brief look through the site and tested as much as I could, but there may be problems yet.
In the recent months, I've been watching the amount of reviews stories receive on PatronusCharm, versus say Dark Lord Potter, and the results are not good. Of our over 100 stories, we have a mere 500 reviews shared between them, many going to some larger stories, but even then 20 or 30 is a paltry number. We are PatronusCharm, we can do better than that. I ask that all of you make an effort to review each and every story you read, and each chapter as they're posted. Let authors know they're...

In response to a recent flooding of PatronusCharm's server, PDF exports are now disabled. PDF exports takes a LOT of processing power, and I had assumed that the members of the site would respect and not abuse this feature. I also made sure that Googlebot and the like wouldn't hit it and spike loads. But today a client from France apparently used some sort of spidering technology to perhaps index the site for his/her own use, which did not respect robots.txt and proceeded to hit the PDF...

Woo, I've finished what I consider 1.0.1 Beta and upgraded the main site to 1.0.1...you all probably didn't even notice, it happened in a blink of an eye! I'm surprised at how smoothly the zero-downtime upgrade went, so naturally there'll be a problem somewhere. Let me know by email or on the DLP forums with problems.

New features in 1.0.1:
-Story tags. Story tags, or if you will, keywords are a new feature which allow authors to tag their story as say a Dresden story. Tags are not...
