I was reading some fics that are really great without all bashing and such, but now I really need some good quality bashing. Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, James and Lily Potter, I don't care who but it should be good.

 

Isn't quality bashing an oxymoron?

 

It's only good if it's the Dursleys or Umbridge getting brutally murdered in hilarious ways.

 

I'm partial to Malfoy getting some myself.

 

I often think the lack of bashing in canon strains credulity.

5 boys stuck in a dormitory for six years, with no mention of it, well, it's not too accurate a coming of age story, to my mind.

But the title aroused my curiosity. As someone who absolutely loathes bashing, and is generally prepared to X out at the faintest sight, is there any quality bashing out there? Something which takes a bashing trope and runs with it in a non-crack way.

I'm thinking the equivalent of quality manipulative!Dumbledore fics. Say, a Ron-POV fic where he has to pretend to like the popular jock in his year.

Probably not, but I'm interested at least, which is something out of this thread.

 

I read bashing when I am angry or annoyed or when I read the chapter potion master in Philosopher's stone. Nothing like characters you hate being killed or tortured will help you to relieve tension.

 

I am just great like that.

I know a few fics that bash Voldemort, Bellatrix and a few Death Eaters. Are those okay?

 

If I wanted bashing of Voldie, I would read Canon, but do you have ones with killing and torture of Snape?
