    Well, if there are no worries about switching ears for plant parts, I don't think that organ rejection is something that even has been thought of... It seems to me, at least, that the magic of switching body parts around takes care of that sort of thing.

    Like I said before...the gargoyle that guards the Headmaster's office. Heck, my oldest son called it a golem the first time he heard of it. Fanon has imbued that thing with much more than it originally showed, up to DH, where it jumped down from its perch and marched off, on its own, without McG 'activating' it.

    The gargoyle that guards the entrance to the Headmaster's office can technically be called a golem. And didn't HJ imply that it took someone who was basically wealthy and a master of Transfiguration to cook up one of these puppies? Also, they seem a bit 'old-fashioned' and require more effort than 99.99% of Wizarding Britain would be willing to commit to.

    Are we ever told how one becomes Minister? All we know for sure is that Bagnold retired and Fudge became Minister, because Crouch Sr. couldn't...and Dumbles didn't want the job. Rufus took when Fudge was forced to retire. Thicknese took over when Rufus was killed. In all three cases, the man taking over was rather high in the pecking order at the Ministry, but none of them seem to have been elected.

    What if the mission wasn't really an assassination? What if it was a 'hit and run...scare the shit out of him' type thing? You know, we can get you any place any time... That seems to fit their 'character' better. In any case, it was an interesting chapter. One thing I think most people are forgetting about Harry, the Dementors and his Patronus, is that last time he went a few rounds with them, James popped up in his head. That would kind of throw one for a bit of a loop...

    Oh, I don't know... most of the time that is because the authors who use them aren't much more mentally developed than fangirls and can't come up with anything truly spectacular. A good prank war, with most of the action happening 'off camera' and the results being anonymous and visible is a bit more than tolerable. You know, something involving noses, parts of the male anatomy that usually remain well covered and Switching spells...very visible and funny as hell.

    There is the fact that bindrunes were used for 'magical' purposes and the fact that a lot of RPG stuff has crept into fanon. Yes, the primary use of what are truly considered Runes is divination, followed closely by 'ordinary' writing.     Yep, that is exactly the purpose of a bindrune...to combine several runes into a unique symbol representing a word or concept that couldn't be represented by a single glyph. Sort of a runic shorthand. There are many common groupings that have names, often some combination of the names of the particular glyphs used in the construction of it.     The lack of betas shows...but like so many NaNoWriMO projects, things can be fixed later. Remember, this is a contest of sorts...a write off, so somethings can be forgiven. And even at that, it is better than many stories that claim to have been through a beta or two. Plot? I'd say that there are several ways it could go. There are a couple of what I would call plot seeds, but it is still too early to scream about the lack of one. This is going to be a ten to fifteen chapter...
