    The 4 chapters thing is a rumor about the current vol being the last one. Not official, confirmed or anything. A Japanese volume pic was leaked, with something that translates into "the last volume" on it. While I believe the current conflict the last one and Bleach being very close to the end, I have to wonder how they could wrap everything up in just 4 chapters.

    Aizen went from one of my favorite villains to one of the worst ones after he transformed into a monster, completely lost his composure and started ranting like a lunatic. It's really sad to see the same thing happen with Yhwach, though I always considered him (and the whole Quincy arc) DB GT level nonsense.

    Bleach has been steadily falling in sales and popularity after the Soul Society arc, but it's still fairly popular. I believe it ranked 12th in 2012 for series based on sales, selling almost three million copies. It still makes good profit, even if not one of the "top three" anymore. Giving a two-year deadline is surprising, but not unthinkable. Since it's been steadily declining for a long, long time, I guess the publishers can't stand the disgrace and want to nip this in the bud before it...

    Ishida, Ishida, Ishida. What the fuck are you doing, man? Going full antagonist? I'd actually like to see that happen. It's a complete mystery for now, which actually restores some of my faith for Kubo's writing skills. Ishida's been pathetically sidelined for basically ever, this is a good thing for him, whichever way it goes. Otherwise, a standard introduce enemy chapter. Not impressed by any of the punks except for Jugo.

    So if everything he was capable of was only a fraction of his true power, what's Ichigo's power level after getting his real sword? Eh. It'll be interesting to see this new sword's shape and powers. I'm thinking it'll be the same, only stronger. Maybe an extra ability. Wonder if he has to get Shikai and Bankai again, though. And what about his Hollow abilities? This shit is so convoluted I'm almost wishing Bleach had a DBZ power levels system.

    So normally, Asauchi is made from Shinigami soul, but since Ichigo got Shinigami and Hollow both, his 'real' Zanpakutou is made from both too? I admit, this Quincy Zangetsu thing almost blew my mind. Also must be fun for Ichigo, the new Big Bad who curbstomped him and cut his precious sword he's been trying to rely on and be partners with is actually his sword. Goddamn this is confusing.

    The trend of wasting space continues! At least the art was smooth. All the explaining shit is finally done. Good. Ichigo got all resolved. Again. He's like a child you have to reassure every few months. Quincy explanations were all right. Despite the angst part, I'm not hating Ichigo being born part Quincy anymore. The hollow thing wasn't explained, though - ah well, more inner conflict for the future. So, Uryuu. I'm seeing a rematch here. Guy looks pretty strapping in that belt.

    When he has a Zanpakutou, he still loses, but without one, he's too strong? Bah! I guess it sorta makes sense, if being a Shinigami has to do with being dependant on your Zanpakutou's power, but well, just look at how Zaraki used to be. It just feels like the mouse wheel for Ichigo. More mental introspection and resolve time for him. It's sorta annoying how much stuff is out of his control.

Although the thing with Unohana was weird - well, pretty much everybody expected that Unohana was secretly something like that, with her smile, but the way she was bashed by the hot springs guy a while back makes this a bit unexpected.     Nah, the reason why he wasn't considered is because he's gotten "weak" over the years, never "following things through". Just read the villain's monologue about how Yamamoto turned from a cold-hearted BAMF into someone with pride and things to protect, which in his opinion turned him weak.

    The Quincy use their fancy artifacts and shit, and deny the Shinigami's strongest weapon, Bankai. Once their tricks get figured out, the Shinigami will have a chance. Kinda interestingly drawn chapter, though. Very frantic and combat-like. It was fun to read. Ichigo, Kenpachi and Mayuri will probably be the star players here. Honestly, the longer the manga goes on, the more important all these strange thingamajigs become. Mayuri's almost irreplaceable these days.

Up to that point, Hollows were the enemy, though they fell kinda in the wayside later on.     Accepting the rule of a shinigami and allowing themselves to be transformed by his magical orb thingy ruined any possible respect I had for hollows in the first place. I thought that their sealed form became obviously weaker than their original form, but their released form became stronger. The only shinigami powers they obtained was the zanpakutou seal trick, really. And I guess allowing for some bastardized hollow version of more 'refined' techniques like Sonido and Bala. Oh, I give up....

These spirit particles also mimic the vast majority of Earth's physics, so that's why they have human-shaped bodies, blood, can die from lethal wounds, etc. This isn't really explained in the canon anywhere, since it's mostly irrelevant to shōnen anime with godlike powers clashing with giant magical swords.

    Soul Society arc. Best of the series, imo. Deicide's cool too, but it's just one hugely long slugfest with mostly silly opponents. You just can't take those Arrancar seriously. Anyways, I'm seriously loving the new character looks. Especially Hitsugaya and Kuchiki Byakuya. It's gonna be fun, watching the rest of the curbstomp.
