I really can't tell if this is all a joke or if they're really overthinking this.

 

A little of both, I think. Tolkien probably did not give much thought toward Legolas seeing so far, but the Valar(and/or Eru) actually did reshape the world toward the end of the First Age(if I remember rightly, might be somewhere in the Second Age) to stop men from sailing to Valinor. Only the elves could still follow the course across the sea to the Undying Lands, which they proceeded to do enmasse during the Third Age while Frodo and company were making the trip toward Mordor.

So it's mostly a joke that they ran with as far as they could, alongside some lore sprinkled in.

Was kinda squicky considering she still looks so young and I remember her as an eleven year old. Fine for younger people watching the show I guess, but...eh.

 

Honestly, looking at the last episode, if I didn’t know who she was I’d be really hard pressed to guess whether or not she’s a fourteen year old boy.

I am also so completely unsurprised that they had to have a sex scene. I mean, wow, they did such a good job building that Arya/Gendry. /s

 

The actress is 22 and the character is 18. Who gives a fuck about sideboob?
