    Xion seems a bit lonely posting in here on it's own, and I've reread and caught up on the whole thing now. Reading it all in one go rather than update by update has highlighted a couple of fairly minor issues, namely a tendency to constantly reiterate certain points, as if the author has forgotten that they've already said it - it doesn't happen far enough apart to come across as reminding readers of things - and, particularly in the latter half of the series, to rehash things from different POVs more than is probably necessary. It's decently written, rather than brilliantly, with a few technical errors like missing or wrong words, although nothing that makes it unreadable. And for all the original and expanded elements, it's still basically a novelization of the games, so stations of the canon is in full effect.

    I still love it though. It's a really compelling study of a Shepard who is a Paragon through determination rather than natural inclination (kind of...), that fleshes out thinner characters and events believably, and handles the canon events that reading them doesn't feel like filler.

    4/5, with potential to hit full marks depending on how the rest of the story plays out (ME3 is at 496 chapters, about halfway through the main plot, some of the bigger side missions, and hasn't touched the DLC beyond things like having a drink with Wrex on the Citadel, so there's still quite a way to go).
