Probably more. As I understand it, Harry is trying to experiment with adding magic users to the world by knocking up various women.

 

Yeah, in addition to Luna and Adrastia he has a bunch of different wives. There is about one sex scene per chapter but except for one of them they're less drawn out and more like 'and then they had rough sex'.

 

As Logan said, where are your recommendations then? The OP himself recommended at least 2 trash novels The Havoc Side of The Force and The Queen Who Fell to Earth, Alistair recommended Rise of The Wizards which I also know is trash. As for Logan, Adas Reborn is actually decent, yeah that start was totally cringy but the story moved on from that and in fact has improved. I can't say for the rest of his recommendations as I normally don't read abandoned fics but what is Almost Recommendable anyway? I saw some great fics in there but I've also seen trash fics in other forums which are implied as regular Recommendable. Who decides if a fic goes to recommendable or almost recommendable, certainly not anyone whose opinion I'd value.

I think his notes are nice burns and are quite funny. Sure he may offended some people but I don't care for your sensitive feelings. I'm an atheist so I don't care if he bashed religions, I may or may not agree with the things he wrote. I'm not pro Noodle just because he hasn't offended anything about me, but because he is actually a very good fanfic author. The depth, length and civilization building in his fics is simply epic. I don't like the harem or so many lemons but you can just skip them... Can't say I like the MC either but he is interesting. Same goes for Darth Marrs and Vimesenthusiast except for not having vulgar MC's.

I was googling for kingdom building and among the only few forums that came up this one had some decent recommendations so I added my two cents. I saw it's 2019 so that's good enough for me. I don't know by what arbitrary number you deem threads archived or whatever, but I see no need for a new thread, also it makes it easier to find when in case of multiple threads every few months they'd each have different recommendations and not a complete list. I made over 10 recs so I'd say I contributed and not just stirred up shit as you say.

 

I don't know about the stories that ZhaWarudo posted besides Any Means Necessary By EiriFllyn as I haven't checked them out yet. but from what I have read so far at the very least it is an okay read. I didn't care for the beginning but by no means would I consider it shitty.

 

I decided to check out some of your recommendations. I had zero expectations but I still ended up dissappinted. I wouldn't recommend any of the fics below to the people browsing this thread.

The problems with this fic is pretty obvious, here are some excerps from the first chapter.

One Ronald Weasley and one Draco Malfoy attempted to enter their compartment intending to become friends or otherwise influence Harry Potter only to be scared away by some of the terms the two were exchanging such as 'mass exchange', 'energy to matter' and 'matter to matter conversion', and 'conservation' of said items as well as 'atoms' and 'quantum'. When 'quantum' is mentioned most people run for the hills.

Their conversation continued all the way up until Hermione had to put on the hat and with it still in her mind there was no way in hell the hat would put her anywhere but in Ravenclaw. Hermione was a little disappointed by this hoping to have gone into the same house as Dumbledore, but her disappointment didn't last long as Harry was sorted in with her.

Thus the plans of Albus Dumbledore and Voldermort were both thrown for a loop. They were not faced with an adventurous, courageous and above all headstrong Gryffindor. They were faced with an affable, incredibly intelligent, inquisitive, and very determined young man who knew that he could not trust anyone in authority in the magic world until he figured out who his enemies were.

When classes began, both Harry and Hermione were disappointed at the speed the classes were supposed to go. After all both mastered the spells involved in the classroom within ten minutes of being allowed to attempt them, and thus thought that others should be able to master them that quickly. Helping their fellows became second nature and their rewards in points would make Ravenclaw the winner of the house cup the next three years.

Harry also took it upon himself to keep a record of every abuse of power, malicious insult, and bullying that any student or teacher did in his time in his first year there. Over that summer this list, anonymously sent out to parents and to the Wizarding Examinations Authority, forced Albus Dumbledore to use a lot of his political capital with the light aligned families to keep Severus Snape as a teacher and drove an even larger wedge between him and the neutrals. By all rights the evidence Harry had collected, including written testimonies from some of the upper years as well as his own year from every house save Slytherin, should've gotten Severus Snape put in jail for child abuse/endangerment, but that would not serve Albus Dumbledore's purpose and so could not be allowed.

The year's disappointments for Albus did not stop with Harry being sorted into Ravenclaw. The invisibility cloak he'd hoped to use to keep track of the boy, via the tracking charm he placed with extreme difficulty on it, sat unused in the boy's specially created library trunk for as long as Harry was in school. At least it sat there as far as he knew, because in his third year, Harry learned how to move the tracking spell and put it on a book in his library, enabling him to use the cloak to his advantage. But that would happen later.

Sirius Black, who thanks to Peter Pettigrew's Veritaserum induced confession was cleared of all charges, had a title of nobility in the mundane world. He used it to get an audience with the Queen, who was, despite never using her power, technically still the head of the magical government. After that meeting he and his godson's friends received all the help they wanted in the way to training. The new Marauders received training in tactics and strategy by squibs who had gone into the military plus SAS specialists that taught them how to use guns, knives and other weapons.

Harry proved a master at it, his defense against the dark arts grades had been excellent as had his transformation, and he had kept in shape his entire life. The others had some problems, but not many. Learning all this and preparing a few creations he and Hermione had thought up using runes and mundane inventions took some time to prepare but after eight weeks of training they were ready.

One of their first missions was the capture of Severus Snape, who would be their only prisoner to be used at a later date against his masters. The group, wearing mundane Halloween masks of different creatures targeted several other death eaters who had recently escaped from Azkaban, including Sirius's own cousin and her husband when they went back to the Lestrange manor. The news of this vigilante group taking down escaped prisoners with lethal force spread and garnered mixed reviews.

Dumbledore for one began a public campaign against the group that stated they were Dark, and it was merely a power struggle between two Dark groups. As he had no evidence that Harry, still technically living with the Dursleys, it was a general attack on the group.

Harry publicly responded in the Daily Prophet via a note that had been in ensorcelled to be unchangeable and would self-destruct if they attempted to tamper with it. The manager of the Daily Prophet decided that the boost in sales was worth it and ran it despite the fact that it basically ripped apart Albus Dumbledore and the 'Greater Good'.

He had figured out that the scar had been a horcrux five minutes after receiving the magical knowledge from the repository. He hadn't been happy about that, not in the slightest. That had been the first revelation he had made. Another of the revelations he had was that of the love and loyalty potions. After they had been removed from his system his feelings toward Dumbledore had not changed, but his feelings toward Ginny and Ron Weasley had. He needed more information though before he dealt with them.

Then Rich!Harry, but Dumbledore has not stolen any money. Rather, he has apparently made some good investments. This gave me some hope.

Then Harry goes full indy!mode. Not really my thing but I can see some people enjoying it a decade ago.

Then some good old-fashioned Weasley bashing (Only Ron, Ginny and Molly of course).

This had a better start than the earlier fics so I was a bit more hopeful, then in chapter 2 we got this.

After she'd successfully removed the blocks on the boy's powers, his powers skyrocketed. Almost to the point where she considered placing a block back on him. By the age of two he was unconsciously lifting and moving objects with the Force. By the age of four he was able to do it consciously and deliberately. By the age of seven he was able to lift the equivalent of one Muntuur stone and hold it for nearly a full minute. And his power only grew with each passing year.

Harry's gifts weren't limited to just the Force either. Harry had an almost freighting level of intelligence. And after she'd showed him a few Force techniques to better absorb knowledge…he had a nearly unquenchable appetite for reading and learning. Already at the age of nine her son was doing what this world considered university level mathematics, science, and engineering. She'd even gone as far as hiring private tutors who were considered experts in several fields to tutor her son.

She had also decided to build up her son physically. This world had a deep martial arts tradition that would make even the Mandalorian's jealous. Wanting her son to be the best, she had hired private instructors in the arts of Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Krav Maga, Hapkido, and fencing. Each day of the week he practiced with a different instructor, each of whom claimed that even at his young age he was true natural in their chosen art. Of course she wasn't completely absent in her son's physical training. She made sure to spend at least one day a week going over the seven lightsaber forms as well as the Echani arts

The writing wasn't awful but the fic itself was boring. From the chapters I've read, there's mostly curbstomping and people pledging their support to Harry.

First chapter is basically a biased summary of what happens in canon, ending with complaints about the 'sheeple' of the magical world.


Second chapter got some fun for everyone. A bit of Ron!Bashing, magical trunks, RoR giving him all books he needs, including a book about Parcel magic written by Salazar Slytherin. There's even a sprinkle of manipulative!Dumbledore, just what this fic needed.


Chapter three starts strong with Harry figuring out how to abuse magical contracts. He then spends the rest of the chapter punishing different characters, making himself a genius and giving himself a six-pack.

 

When you put it like that it does make you cringe but such is the kingdom building genre, you won't find better than this. If you can pass trough the first couple of chaps, it won't even matter. You mentioned Dumbledore in Magic of The Force lol? He hasn't been around since chapter 1 and the story is over 900k words, that takes years to write and it only gets better. In A Third Path to The Future I'm ignoring that annoying harem with freaking Hela being head over heels for Harry and all that smut and lemons. Why? Because he's building a magical/space kingdom on modern Earth and there are epic battles, and the writting isn't bad as in your average fanfic written by a highschooler or those that seem to have never left high school. Also pretty important is the length and follow trough, where else will you find fanfics of over 200k words that are sure to be completed? I'm not pro Weasly/Dumbledore bashing either, that's such an overused and amateur thing to do but I did read some of these quite a while a go when it was new to me, I still follow them as they are pretty much over that and mostly have improved.

I've had a look at the previous posts but are there any Empire stories at all that aren't Harem and don't have bashing? Seems to be a big part of most of these kinds of stories.
