I'm enjoying Reacher, but the dialog is pretty bad and he doesn't deliver it very well. It works if you view it as meathead Burn Notice more than anything else

I only got through 3 episodes before I had to stop. Do the clichéd lines and stilted delivery ease up after that? Because if not I'm not going to finish it.

Non-Reacher dialog? A little. Reacher dialog? He kind of keeps the barely constrained autistic hostility up, but I haven't finished it yet.

In general I think this is an issue of direction; the wild swings between ANGRY MEATHEAD, Sherlock PD, and Michael Weston with giant muscles is a bit much.

Finally watched the first episode of the Reacher. The dialogue feels a bit off, but not too much. Reacher is wooden as hell, but that’s kind how i aleays imagined him, so… spot on. Roscoe is a bit younger looking than I expected, but overall I am happy with the first episode, so put my vote down for “yay” so far.

Been watching Reacher. Started it out of curiosity. Seems like an actually good show. Is exactly what it says on the tin, with good casting and decent performances.

I'm well entertained by it and don't have any specific that really jabs at me the wrong way.
Edit: Plus, it ended great. Not many shows can do that. So extra points.

Binged through the Vikings sequel Valhalla. Set 100 years after the original and holds the exact same feel. Really enjoyed Leif Erikson's character and pretty much everything else about it.

I don't feel like any of the characters have the same sheer presence that Ragnar, Ivar and Lagertha had though. Everyone is just kinda samey.

Agreeed, but it is only season one. I have a feeling Leif will take that role after the finale.

So Better Call Saul is back.

My God is were the first 3 episodes absolutely amazing.

I emphatically state that Better Call Saul is one of the best TV/Story you can ever watch.

In fact, it might actually surpass Breaking Bad at its best.

Which is absolutely crazy considering its a prequel and we know the fates of 98% of the players. Kim, howard, chuck and Nacho were the exceptions

    Watched Terminal List.

It's been years since I read the book, and while I enjoyed the show well enough (the flashbacks got old), I feel like they changed a lot, so much so that I just found myself confused and let down by how it ended.

Confused because I was genuinely unsure if I was misremembering or if they made a massive change.

Still, if you like mystery thrillers, with a hint of revenge porn, give it a watch. It's still pretty good.

I found the whole thing too dark - even at maxed brightness I just wasn't enjoying it. The actual show was otherwise decent enough though.

Watched terminal list. Flashbacks get old real fast. Havent had a problem with the darkness, but honestly, there is never much mystery - you can see the setup the moment the mission goes bad, and the whole picture the moment drugs are mentioned. Quite meh.

I finished the Boys about a week ago, and I think that it may have been the best piece of superhero media that I've ever consumed. Homelander, A-Train and the Deep all make for excellent antagonists with very different threat levels, and I'm a huge fan of Hughie & Billy Butcher's dynamic. The writing is excellent, and while some of the cultural references they slip in are always just two inches away from being cringy, they manage to stay topical. We'll have to see how well the TV series as a wholes ages, but for now I think that it's some of the best television currently being produced.

So The Sandman teaser/trailer is out.

    Thoughts?

Personally I can't get past howuch Tom Sturridge looked like a discount Edward Cullen. After that it was hard to take the rest of it seriously.

Than again I've never been a big fan of the comic books, more interested in this as a fan of Gaimans books.

I really hope this is good. It looks okay so far, but it's Netflix. I really hope it succeeds.

I'm cautiously hyped. It's a big project to pull off, but Gaiman has clearly been heavily involved, which is promising. Certainly, nothing so far has struck me as particularly concerning.

They look on track to have a disastrous depiction of Lucifer, for one. Nothing I've seen of Christie makes me think she can pull it off. But that's fine, Lucifer is important for Sandman but not all that present.

Hopefully if this does well and they do go for a proper Lucifer show, they'll cast better.

Sandman is kind of a mess, but it's an enjoyable mess. Much like American Gods was.

A little disappointed with Sandman so far. I am at episode 5. Really loved episode 1, but since then Dream looks like he is always 2 seconds away from crying like a little girl.

I understand that they had to use Joanna Constantine because of licensing issues, but I was super excited for John and we won't get him, surprisingly I really loved the casting for Lucifer. The actress was top-notch, unlike Claire from Doctor Who who is playing Joanna. I cant believe Neil was ok with the casting.

The show is beautiful, but the pacing seems weird. The voice for the raven is also annoying. Hope the second part of the season gets better.

Regarding other shows out now, I really loved The Boys. I'm also enjoying Only Murderers in the Building on Disney+.
