Just try. The worst that happens is no one downloads it.
Alternatively, you find that your voice, that you thought wasn't very good, becomes the next Morgan Freeman.

You should get people to contribute to the various horrible fanfic cliches. Like an amusing shoutout.

I have thought for a while that a DLP Radio Drama could be awesome if we got a team together on it.

I've been told more than once that I have "one of those voices that is perfect for voicing boys in anime shows." They must be somewhat correct because everytime I get on Vent/Mumble/TS with people I don't know they are always assuming I'm a boy instead of a woman.

Plus accent. And I have trouble saying some words correctly apparently (sit nearly always comes out as "shit," breakfast apparently comes out as "brak-fast" and so on).

So haven't considered it. But it'd be neat to do a group reading where there are a lot of character POV and each person took a different one. Like Game of Thrones, where you have a different reader for each POV. Except not Game of Thrones, b/c that one has already been done to death and I'm tired of hearing about it.

    Question: Character voices, or no?

I'd say: if it doesn't sound stupid, then yes.

Absolutely, as long as the reader(s) are good enough.

I don't know about character voices, but I hear I have a face for radio. Does that extend to Internet dramas?

I'd personally love audio fanfics. I love listening to audiobooks while I work out so, hey, why not fanfics? Audiofics can be a pretty good time waster, especially if the source material is funny or well written.

Oh one thing, If you guys did some sort of team/podcast/whatever to read stories, I'd recommend first trying some "less than serious" fanfics to get the hang of the thing. Not troll fics that have horrible grammar, but maybe a fanfic that takes itself seriously when it definitely shouldn't. I suggest this because this type of reading requires some bits of acting, which can be harder than you'd think. Sometimes you look at what a script(or in this case fanfic) says and think "Yeah, I can do this no problem!" but then realize the issue isn't so much doing it but doing it in a way that sounds even remotely natural.

So that's why I was recommending to start off reading fanfics that take themselves seriously, have good grammar, but probably shouldn't take themselves seriously. Because then you don't have to get nervous over being melodramatic or anything and can just focus on practicing your range for when you get to actually serious sounding stuff. If you act cheesy on purpose you are going to know when not to be cheesy, 'is what I'm getting at.

I think character voices would be awesome if the person doing them was sure they could pull em off. I remember not liking the HPatPS' audiobook that much. Someone should post a chapter of their favorite fic on vocaroo.

Anyone who has heard Shezza spaz out in Skype know that they would be perfect for doing this sort of stuff.

Shezza reading the Harry Potter books. Whenever Draco Malfoy comes on stage, he does that spazzy scream.

That actually is a nice idea, I had never considered it seriously before.

One time I did however read some trollfic with a friend to our skype group, for glorious amusement.

As for what is of the voice, it would probably be good enough.

Yeah, it would be pretty nice. In fact, I actually do the dramatic voice thing suprisingly well... the only problem, of course, is when I actually forget to be properly dramatic on the scale of dramatic dramatic-ness, I end up using my actual voice, which sounds like a pre-puberty brat on drugs.
    How sad.
